Re: Cool/Candid Axl Video
The way he talks about Slash (of all people) is like, superficially, he's trying to embarrass him or downplay his reputation as a ladies man, but at the same time, he sounds very affectionate towards the dude. Like, my friend did this kind of stuff and I love him anyway.
Axl's probably a hoot to hang out with once he's in the mood, but to me, this video does show how much he still cares for Slash, and thinks warmly of the times they had. It's not the things he says, it's the way he says them.
It's sad in a way. A lot of longing on both sides of the fence, I wager. And I mean that on a human level.

Wow, he still talks a hell of a lot about someone he considers to be a 'cancer'
I thought it sounded quite affectionate too. He wasn't spewing hatred when he mentioned his name, like he usually does. Interesting that he mentions Slash's book too, so I'm guessing Axl definitely read it...
Re: Cool/Candid Axl Video
Nice video. Yeah I agree apex, I think Axl would be great fun to hang with when he's in the mood. He seems like a genuine, engaging individual when he's up for it. I reckon you would have a great laugh.
Re. him speaking about Slash - Slash was a big part of this guys life for a period, so I wouldn't expect him to totally ignore the guy and the fact they had fun times together for a while.
I'm sure when you get down to it there is still some sort of affection deep down on both sides of the fence once you strip away all the bullshit.

Re: Cool/Candid Axl Video
Yeah not surprised that he read Slash's book...I mean the guy seems to read what's said about him in the media, he even seems to read what inconsequential people like me post on these boards....so it figures if an ex-bandmate who people consider him to be in a feud with was to write a book he'd read it.
This is the kinda thing I like to see to be honest. Even if a musical reunion never happened it would be nice to just see Axl and Slash forgive each other on a human level and just talk about the fun stuff that happened along the way rather than antagonise or insult each other.
I remember Duff commenting once that something like GNR happening in a person's life is a momentus and unusal thing to happen to a person. So like at the end of the day, all bullshit asside, it's a freakshow ride that both Axl and Slash were a part of, and it's nice to see some warmth to go with the anger.
