Re: The bottom line
Axl in a lot of ways reminds me of those outgoing loud athletes. Rodman, Randy Moss, T.O. Ocho Cinco etc... Those antics are overlooked when u are the best in the world and are kicking ass and on top... Once u slide and are no longer on top.. They become a nuisance and u usually get kicked off the team.
I like that Axl still is "Rock N Roll" but its harder today to get away with the same shit he got away with 20 years ago when GNR were the greatest band on earth.
THIS is Axl
You know what Iverson's doing now? Playing in Europe flat fuckin' broke.
Just sayin'
Re: The bottom line
I beleive there will be a new album.
To me it's like the CD plan from 2006 or thereabouts is still operational just running 5 years behind or so.
there is or was no plan
things are just in free fall
crashing to the ground slowly

I disagree.
Plans change a lot in GNR world...but they do plan stuff then it does or doesn't quite happen...look at the details MSL had...some of which is happening and some isn't.
But the logical progression was always CD release, world tour, usa tour...then move on to part 2 if part 2 will happen.
To me this USA tour is the one we all expected several years ago...but it is happening...just as Chinese did come out...just a good 5+ years beyond even the last expectations of people....
I think the same will happen with CD2....Axl hinted he might release something a year from CD1...I think he will still relase it...just in GNR terms one year blows out to like 7 years....
Re: The bottom line

Re: The bottom line
Oh I don't think he means for it to take 5 years initally.
It's like the original plan is made...then shit goes down and it takes 5 years to sort it out.
I think officially they say there are no plans though at the moment right.
I'm just hopeful because we know we works on music. We know there's songs that are unreleased. And so it seems like the next thing to do in a year or two.

Re: The bottom line
You may be right that there's no plans. Who knows. I'm just thinking that logically if there's things he's created that are unreleased at some stage he may wish to share...then again maybe he doesn't too.
But in addition to the tinkering with old material, we also know that DJ has sent him some song ideas. There's also the interviews where he's described as randomly playing an unheard song at a piano in the hotel and stuff like that.
To me there's every reason to beleive that he works on music. I would find it stranger if he suddenly quit playing - by all accounts he's been interested in music since childhood.
Re: The bottom line
I don't get why GN'R has to do anything on anyone else's time scale other than their own to be cool.
Who said anything about being cool? That ship sailed 20 years ago.
The issue people have Russ is that they don't do anything on their time schedule either. It has nothing to do with cool, it's about treating people with respect. It's completely fine that they want to shit on their fans, but you can't get all defensive when fans give him shit back. That's just how it works. Axl gets very little that he hasn't earned from the fans...maybe the media people are harder on him than he deserves to make a story, but the fans have every right to say whatever they want to say about him at this point. The fact that any fans support him still is quite amazing.
If Axl ever gets his shit together, I'll be right there with everybody else supporting him. Until then, I am going to call it as I see it, and I won't feel bad about it a bit.
