Re: Lady GaGa Thread
I think you pretty much summed it up Axlin, and quite nicely at that. Although I don't know if I'd go so far to say she's destroying her career. That seems a bit bold. I still think she's at a point where she can do no wrong, for the most part.
At first I thought she was trying to be Andrew Dice Clay, which would've been funny. She should've gone that route. I guess you must be right about poking fun at the dressed in drag thing. She should've pulled out that fake cock in her pants that she supposedly had. Hey, if you want to be shocking, you might as well go all the way. Not pull some pansy stunt like that. It was just ridiculous.
I'll agree on the "can do no wrong" statement on one reason.... this Facebook/Twitter/iPhone generation has an attention span of a grain of sand, and her missteps will very quickly be forgotton if record companies and businessmen continue to shove her down their throats as "cool" and "hip", and they've got a new hot single to download off of iTunes.
If Madonna had laid an egg like this 20 years ago, it'd of been her demise. People wouldn't have stopped talking about it for years, and they would've used it to lynch her. Actually i'd say if Britney had done the same thing in the late 90s, it would've buried her.
Like I said, the key difference whether it buries GaGa or not, is that even when Madonna or Britney screwed up, it still put them over with the audience. GaGa has pulled so much bizarre shit at this point, that people have OD'ed on her "shocking behavior", and she's already on the backside of the mountain. The fact that Adele is stealing her thunder is proof of that.
GaGa laid a FAT egg the other night, and it just might've been the straw that broke the camel's back, when good will towards her antics has/had already been vanquished.

Lady Gaga Might Become Queen Gaga
by Paul Cashmere on October 7, 2011
Queen guitarist Brian May says he has spoken to Lady Gaga about the possibility of her being a singer for Queen.
It is not that far fetched. Lady Gaga was named after the Queen song ‘Radio Gaga’. Brian May played guitar on ‘You & I’ from the ‘Born This Way’ album and Queen have had different guest singers before. The most recent was Paul Rodgers of Bad Company/Free fame.
“I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with,” May told the Daily Express. “Lady Gaga has said she would like to do something with us”.
Queen are currently auditioning unknown singers for Queen Extravaganza, a tour drummer Roger Taylor plans to do across the USA next year.
