Guys having a fight over if Slash or Bucket is better is the same as saying some hot girl doesn't have a great ass because some other hot girl has impressive breasts.

Truth of the matter is they both kickass, in different ways, and both of them are the sort of guitarist that other guitarists such as myself look up to and take inspiration from.

As for the new music issue.

Like you guys I would love to hear new music thousands of times more than the classic hits, as much as I loved and grew up with those songs.

However, given that Axl doesn't have a lot of label support, and given that most CDs are not profitable these days, I'm hopeful that some of the money from tours will eventually fund future releases.

I know you guys think DJ is a liar and so on. But there is some evidence that Axl still works on creative endevors in private.

I awlays got the impression the plan was tour for CD, including USA tour, and then look at CD2. Granted we're running like 6 years late, much like a late starting show, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

I woke up this morning with a strange renewed hope. I know you'll think i'm nuts. But something struck me. We did get CD. Yep it took fucking 15 years or whatever. But it did happen. It's just GNR moves like a fucking glacier or something. But it moves. And we did get the USA tour. Seemed to take years longer than expected...but eventually....

So my (quasi-religious I know!) view is that eventually we will hear new music from  GNR. Given that if he plays it live we'll just torrent it then bitch that studio version has a different guitar intro or something - if I was Axl i'd just play my classic hits for another year or two - then hunker down and release Album 2 a couple of years after that.

I know it sounds nuts but I'd guess there will be another album. Probably around 2014 or so!!!

Totally unnecessary, dude.

Gimme a break. Ali is clearly a  troll who even calls people at HTGTH  haters. Posts over at mygnr are also bullshit posts. Basically expresses the attitude of a "Fuck Slash" poster in disguise albeit terribley disguised Whatever though.

As for calling Naltav a  loser...   what can I say. Anyone who can't see through his bullshit needs help.

Well, I've never seen Ali with a "Fuck Slash" attitude, or post. He's been pretty cool here as far as I'm can see. And a lot more respectful than some of the guys here who don't hide the fact they hate anything to do with the new line up, which Ali is clearly a big fan of.

The insults are beneath you.

Hey Bono

If you've got something you wanna say to me. PM me.

The only posts from you that I see are when other boardmembers quote you, like above.

I give credit where credit is due.. that TWAT solo is amazing no doubt about it

only thing I would mention though: His tone doesn't match Axl's voice quite like Slash.. Those two were made to be together in that aspect

I also always had ONE major problem with TWAT solo.... When Axl starts his "I would do anything for youuuuuuuuu" the guitar kinda drops down low etc... where I am just screaming for it to continue high and to go nuts..... think SCOM during the Where to we gooo right before the end how Slash's manic shredding elevates the intensity of the song..

TWAT gets right to that peak... pokes a hole through  the ceiling but then just kinda dies out whereas Slash's explode out of the ceiling.

You also forgot that Slash urinates gold and farts out diamonds. tongue

If he wanted to release new music he would. But he's clearly afraid to Mister Rose that is.

Also losing two talents: Buckethead with his phenomenal ability and yes Robin Finck with his songwriting and guitar abilities does hurt you.

I don't see how anyone else doesn't find it kind of sad they are covering a song that someone else wrote and he's not in your band anymore.

I think it says a lot about the Captain of the ship not the people that left.

Hopefully, Mister Rose tour goes successful. But DJ Ashba ruins any song I see him in. Too gimmicky and just doesn't come off as someone I can take remotely serious like Buckethead and Robin Finck. Yes Buckethead wears a Bucket on his head and you might say that is a gimmick. I disagree. It is a layer of comfort and he isn't playing it up. Also, the guy let's his talent speak for himself.

Add this to my hate on DJ Ashba posts.

As for Slash he is talented as well. I ain't going to compare him to Buckethead different styles.

However, post Slash losing your best talent: Finck and Buckethead makes your efforts of creating new music troublesome, plus it showcases you're the problem in the equation clearly.

one of my other fave guitarists Prince said it best... A Guitar solo should be like making love to a woman.... U start out slow... and let it build and build till the climax

Lot of New GNR especially Robin is like Jacking off without cumming..

I don't think that is Bucket's fault. Axl's ego getting in the way is more like it.

Ali is very pro Axl, anti Slash, but does it in a way to where you think its an actual debate, when really it is not.  If Buckethead played Slash's solos, and Slash played Bucket's, he (ALI) would say, "Man, Bucket's solos SMOKE Slash's, he has so much more feel and passion, anyone can play fast like Slash, but few have the emotion, passion, feel of bucket."  I say that as a fan of Bucket, the dude is great, and I like his solos.. But you really can't hum, or sing his solos and they are not "that" memorable.. They are nice and tasty, but not "iconic" or "masterpieces".  Even the casual fans would agree with that.  People will always prop up their guy more.  Bucket was an Axl guy.  Axl is an Ali guy.  So it makes sense, Ali will back Bucket before Slash...

I come from the camp that they are both great yet, VERY different styles.

Finck has some nice solos too, but live was often a debacle.

Ashba, so unoriginal it pains me to see.

Ron, takes his job serious, major chops, but I like Bucket's style better.

Fortus, can really play, not sure of writing skills, but the guy can play.  Often has shitty tone though.

what would I say to you in a  PM that I haven't said out here. Just becaue I call you out by name while you dance around the fact you're para phrasing my posts  to maintain your hollier than thou image you're trying to build for yourself doesn't mean I need to PM you.

You got somthing to say Naltav direct it at the person you're para phrasing and stop acting like a righteous jerkoff.

the moment Axl surfaced at Rio I defended the guy on his weight even after the intial photos popped up yet I mention I don't like his hats and that's what you zone in on? You've a got a weird fascination with picking apart posts and targeting what you percieve as negative. Almost like you have an obsessive radar that locks in on anyting that doesn't completely glorify Axl or his new band.

Agree. id imagine Axl chopped it up and edited/copied pasted like he did Brian May's
