Re: Bumblefoot's Favorite UYI Song
I like Don't Cry much more with just Ron playing behind Axl. Very cool stuff.
I really like Ron's version. I think this is one of the few times when the post-1993 band changed a song and it got a brand new identity.

Re: Bumblefoot's Favorite UYI Song
I'm as big a supporter of the new band as anyone - especially bumble who is a great guy - but seriosuly this question is bullshit....
Lets have a look:
Right Next Door To Hell
Dust N' Bones
Live and Let Die *
Don't Cry (Original) *
Perfect Crime
You Ain't The First
Bad Obsession
Back Off Bitch
Double Talkin' Jive
November Rain *
The Garden
Garden Of Eden
Don't Damn Me
Bad Apples
Dead Horse
Coma
Civil War
14 Years
Yesterdays
Knockin' On Heaven's Door *
Get In The Ring
Shotgun Blues
Breakdown
Pretty Tied Up
Locomotive
So Fine
Estranged
You Could Be Mine *
Don't Cry Alt.
My World
So yeah...by my count that's 5 of the 30 songs of UYI that the new band has ever even peformed publicly - and of course 2 of those are covers...so yeah...tell us - which of the 3 songs you can legitimately choose without risk of someone calling it - do you like? Think he was going to choose Coma or Locomative? Please. Bullshit question.
Re: Bumblefoot's Favorite UYI Song
DC is a pretty bad ass tune
this
i also prefer the alt lyrics, but there's no denying the universal nature of the original & the potency of that version. one of the great GnR numbers. & i like what ron has done w/it, esp when he first started playing it & when axl first joined him -since then it's renditions have become symptomatic of the laziness that runs thru this band
another fave bit of this song is the inclusion of the "where's izzy?" placard in the video
