Re: I bet the US Tour goes smooth
I haven't heard a thing about the tour outside of this message board.
I forget where you live, but might that have something to do with it, if there's not a show in your area?
It's all situational. The concert is being publicized ALL over WCCC in Hartford. They've been running contests giving away tickets all week long. Sure the DJ's continue to make some snide remarks about Axl, but would you expect anything less.
And like I said before, most of my friends seem genuinely excited about the show. No one even batted an eye at the $90 price tag. Of course, it was the perfect storm. The show falls on a Saturday night, 15 minutes from where I live. So it's a nice short ride, and most people have that day and the next day off. If it was a mid week show, the enthusiasm probably wouldn't be as great.
I'll take it though.

He lives in Tennessee I believe....he's just doing his thing... trying to tell everybody what they know and don't know.
No, I'm just telling it like it is. I live 90 minutes from one show and 2 hours from a supposed other show. Even if they aren't going to do radio promo, someone in my area should be talking about it at the very least.
Re: I bet the US Tour goes smooth
like i said last week or something they have shown news of a gnr tour on the ticker on the news up here a couple times and the radio is playing them like mad all of a sudden so hopefully a show is coming this way...i just dont htink that peopel really care about hard rock and metal music in the USA for the most part....i mean there is obviously a fanbase but i think that its slowly been regulated to almost a niche market since the mid 90's

I don't agree with that. Unless you work in the music industry or something, I never hear anyone talking about concerts 90 minutes away. Just doesn't happen, at least not that I've witnessed.

Concerts in Atlanta and Nashville (and even Knoxville) are advertised in Chattanooga all the time. Maybe you live close enough to somewhere that has shows that they don't have to advertise concerts from further locations. I don't. I've seen shows advertised as far away as New Moon Casino in MS or LA (not sure exactly where it is). I know my area, I know how things happen.
