yes, ofcourse. that's why they are in the bar hitting 100 percent of their free throws for 50 bucks a show while the pros are getting paid thousands to hit less.

Because we all know that talent is the only thing necessary to make it big.  roll

ofcourse not!

now you're trying to move away from the specifics at hand and generalize things.

what's your point?

I'm just gonna go out on a  limb here and say his point is on any given day of the week you can find someone with extreme talent perhaps even more so than Axl Rose in some bar somewhere in this world who didn't get a lucky break or have the right timing and for whatever reason never made it big.  The point being it doesn't only take talent to become successful.

Wasnt Axl better than everyone else before he got his big break? Mabye even better than the untapped talent in Buzz's local boozer? This was the guy who Slash regarded as the "best singer in Hollywood" before a record was sold.

Forgive me if I'm missing the point cause I dunno what you guys are bickering about anymore 16

Nobody is denying Axl has supreme talent. Fact is there are 6 billion peopel on this planet and if people don't think there's untapped talent at an even higher level than Axl who will never get signed or have a big break  well than you live a pretty sheltered life.

and to be honest I don't even know what we're talking about here anymore either haha!

Well i think Axl deserved his big break, himself and the rest of the band worked hard on their way up and built themselves a reputation that demanded recognition.

Axl left his home at a young age and travelled into the unknown with nothing much more than his determination to be a somebody, I think his success boils down more to pure blood n guts than a lot of people would like to admit.

Axl didn't work any harder than thousands of others who never joined up with 4-5 other guys with as much talent AND willing to do the PR work that he was NEVER willing to do.

Axl - when he's on - is as good as anybody out there.  The problem is that he's rarely on.  They recorded almost every show on the UYI tour and he still had to re-record the vocals for Live Era.  Enough said.

Studio Axl = awesome...even on the songs I don't like from CD.  Live Axl = a rare hit with a lot of ok and many misses.

I didn't move away from anything.  My point was (and is) that there are more talented, or at least as talented singers out there that never got their break.  There are a variety of reasons why...too many to list.  That doesn't change the fact that my statement is 100% true.

like bono said there is untapped talent out there, yes

That's because Axl chose the wrong shows to amass that Live Era collection.

Selected shows from the 1991 live performances wouldn't have had to been tweaked.

Not to mention where was VMA '88 Welcome To The Jungle? The absolute BEST live performance of that song -- ever.
