Honestly -- no.
Think about that. Not in my lifetime, but in the lifetime of my memory, Metallica were always the 'corporate' streamlined Metallica.

Its sounds exactly as I feared, a monotone 'poet' riffing over a heavy metal band.
This partnership has all the ingredients for a steaming turd and the snippet they served up is brown, stinks and has corn in it.
I do not expect diamonds and ice cream to follow...
Diamonds And Ice Cream... That's what they should have called the album.

The music doesn't sound too bad, but man, Lou Reeds vocals just don't work for me. If James sang the whole thing it might be ok, but I just don't like it.
This may be the first Metallica album I don't purchase...

Well said. Honestly, after St Anger I didn't think they could do any worse.
