Re: Slash the new album
Bono wrote:Kindas cool he's working with Todd Kerns though. Assuming that it is the same Todd Kerns from Age of Electric.
yep...Canadian
I always thought Todd Kerns would've been kind of a cool fit for VR back when they were still looking for a singer. I liked his first solo album(not sure if he has more than one)
Re: Slash the new album
I have zero interest in Myles as the singer. The songs may end up great but fr me Myles voice is gonna bring them down to average at best.
Agreed... fuck it. I thought they guy would win me over live... no way. I'd rather see Rio III fat Axl shirtless up there winded.

Re: Slash the new album
I'm looking at it a bit different from you guys.
My theory is slash has made enjoyable albums with everyone he's worked with: Axl, Eric Dover, Rod Jackson and Scott, and the host of solo singers.
Now some of those albums are better than others no doubt - but to me given he's not going to be working with Axl anytime soon, it's just a case of who will he work better with?
The two songs done with Myles so far are pretty solid...perhaps under VR's absolute best songs, but above their average ones. Meanwhile VR was always pushing slash in the wrong direction, IMO, while myles isn't into that...so if we're going to have a new snakepit record then I say he's at least got potential.

Re: Slash the new album
I just want to hear Slash be himself and play what he thinks is great music so I can see where the man is at on his journey.
I have just 'enjoyed' both Slash's and Axl's work seperately to date but never 'loved' it.
It would be great to see either man prove me wrong when I say that most of the world & I just don't want to see one writing & performing without the other.

This exactly. I have yet to really "love" something from Slash or Axl outside of each other. I am def interested in this album though.

Re: Slash the new album
If Myles brings his Alter Bridge influence to this project, especially AB3 strong song writing, I think this next Slash album can be killer.
It's great to have a proper rhythm section too, from his band that's been on the road with him, rather than the dull performance from Josh Freese on the 2010 album
