goes to show that Bumble is out of the loop most of the time as he said there had been no writing or recording going on..even Tommy seemed to allude to that too. Looks like DJ is the man in the sun for this period of GNR's existance

Baz was the first to tell us about Sorry. Baz actually has a good track record about the new music.

I think Ron could be a good addition to the writing, in that he could contribute some solid riffs and ideas. Perhaps Ron will really compliment DJ.
The only real songwriters of the band seem to be Chris, Dizzy, Tommy and Axl, anyway. Its not a big deal if the other guys aren't involved.

Found a bit more info from htgth about it:
In latest Sweden Rock magazine, Bach reveals that Axl was to sing on his latest album "Kicking and screaming", but had to cancel it in the last minute. Axl texted Bach and asked "When is the latest possibility to come over and do the vocals". The day came and went but Axl couldnt make it. No hard feelings from Bach though, who also heard a new song that DJ and Axl had written together - it was dark and heavy and very cool - Bach then told the reporter (jokingly?) "If Axls not going to release I want to release it with my band!, its so damn good!"
This coming from the same man who called Sorry "doom metal"

With that said, i'd happily welcome an Axl/DJ/Tommy/Dizzy GN'R album. No Ron though, keep him FAR away from the writing process (jesus christ).

I'd be happy for Ron to trade licks with DJ while Axl goes nuts over the top!!! One of the good things about the new GNR set up is that there's so many people in the band that people can just contribute random ideas to a track. I like what Ron added to chinese democracy in terms of feel and I'm sure he'd add some value to the next record too.
Meanwhile, I was thinking about it more today. And DJ may actually prove to be an awesome muse for Axl. He's got a lot of protools skills - he's not just a guitarist - so he's sort of a full package in terms of production as well. I could see Axl, Chris and DJ taking some basic song ideas to a new level.
I'd love to see DJ become like the new Izzy/Paul that presents ideas to Axl and Axl takes it and turns it into something truely inspirational.

I don't think he's lying. So the news that Axl is actually writing with at least one of the new members are good news in my book!

Look who's talking about predictable posters. Dude seriously SHUT UP! The people "whining" in here don't give two shits about Baz's praise for music we may not hear for years or ever. People are sick of the Baz Gn'R hype machine. Get that through your thick skull dude. Nobdy here si compaining about the possibility of new music being written they just dont' care what Baz has to say when it comes to it because he's a blinder, bigger Axl fanboy than you are

If it was just another Baz-praise of the ChiDem-vault, this prolly wouldn't have its own thread. Let alone 2 pages long.
So the news/rumor that Baz has heard a new song written by Axl/DJ is obv a tad more interesting than what Baz has raved on about for years now. At least to me it is!

Seriously. Biggest fucking disappointment of a song ever. I remember hearing Baz's description and being like "wow that sounds amazinggggg!!"

I think Baz is telling the truth, or an exaggerated version of the truth. Something should have happened on the songwriting front, there are some achievements for sure, whether it'll be used or not, and when, is a different question.
I have a strange feeling reading Bach's GN'R-comments though. He's starting to become the man who is famous for knowing a famous man. Such a shame, cause Skids were great.

I think I understand what he meant by "doom metal." Especially considering the outro to Sorry, which is friggin killer. He did say how catchy the chorus was. And he was absolutely right about that.
Poor, Ron. But I agree.
