You aren't going to the right bars.  There are far, far, far better singers than Axl out there.  Axl isn't a good singer, he's a unique singer.  There's a pretty significant difference.

you and bono are the most predictable posters ever.

You haven't seen better singers at bars.

axl is sooooo good that he can sing out of his natural range, which DOES take more effort, while entertaining and selling millions.

he is known for having a unique singing voice, yes. is that supposed to subtract from his abilities?lol he sings in a unique manner to the point that nobody has come close to imitating him and his performances are epic at times and of high difficulty. that is more testament to his abilities than anything else could be. does he need to sing by some formula taught at a school in order to be considered good? that's ridiculous but if you must go there axl IS capable of singing by the book. he has a beautiful legit singing voice and has good command of it.

hes one of a kind.
he has both.

if he lowered the bar and sang in his natural range he'd be as consistent as the night is dark but hed be just another one hit wonder and possibly singing at the bars by your house.

Oh piss off. I never said I've seen better singers in bars but yes I have seen better technical singers than Axl fucking Rose.  he's not the best singer to grace  this planet.  Yes he's unique but what the fuck ever.  My arguement here is that he doesn't put more effort into his performances than anyone else at his level. IE: Eddie Vedder, Bono, Dave Grohl etc etc. You may like Axl's voice better but he does NOT give it anymore than the others. Axl has a talent to sing out of his natural register. Whoopty fucking doo! it doesn't mean he puts more effort inot his performances and in fact like I mentioend he's one of the very few who is known to mail it in some nights.

lol!!

u said singing out of his range doesn't require more effort.

IT DOES

thats all i was responding to from you - i didnt even quote you

mailing it in once in a while is an unfortunate product of his mental instability. but when he isnt mailing it in he outperforms those three hands down.

i dont think hes the best singer ever but i dont think there is one. i think there is a small class of the greatest singers from several genres and i would definitely put him in that class.

hahaha! he does NOT out perform those mentioend hands down. My God. The others mentioned own their crowds and perform their guts out as well. You liking Axl Rose more does not mean he out performs the others. I love watching Axl on stage  and yes he's an amazing performer but he doesn't out perform others at his level just because he  runs around more or has a different voice.

In fact you could say the others put in WAY MORE effort because they show up on time, do soundchecks, and on a  much more conistent basis don't have issue with their microphone levels(which I swear over the eyars has become a built in excuse for inadequate vocals on certain nights).  You might like Axl's performances better but it doesn't mean he out performs others. Obviously there are some he does but not top level performers he doesn't. They are all on par. The real good ones that is.

Does Axl out perform Bruce Springsteen? I highly fucking doubt it. Running around and switching which hand you hold the microphone in behind your back doesn't make you a  better performer and it most definitely doesn't mean you put more effort into your performances. It means you're a different performer

And in all of this I've never said Axl isn't a great singer just so we're clear.,

Axl, Mick Jagger, Bon Scott, Robert Plant, sometimes Weiland, are/were in a league of their own when it comes to working the stage and putting on a show.

i don't disagree with the logic in your assessment. just with the results.

by the way i like all of those other artists  - this is not a biased or blind position i hold.

axl doesn't show up on time because it IS all about the performance. if he could perform to the same level and show up on time he would. hes not a cookie cutter soul and his art and craft is no different. is this an inadequacy or a blessing? both.

how many artist do u know that can miss several shows, cancel tours, and show up late for 99 percent of the rest of them, and still come out with a cover band to an arena full of people 15 years after his twilight?

none

anything else is subjective.

Same with Jim Morrison... But he was "on" less than even Axl.  And caused even more problems.  But there isn't anything I wouldn't give to have seen one of those Doors concerts.

Yeah no shit. Everyone and their grandma was imitating him. From the lead singer of Dangerous Toys to that singer of Tesla imitating the dance in one of the videos and everyone in between. It was comical. I remember an interview from Hit Parader back in those days where Slash was laughing at how many people were trying to copy Axl.

On the subject of rehearsals, crank this to 11.....

I have a real hard time beliveing Axl comes on late or whenever he wants to based all on his ability to give the best performance.  Axl could deliver the same awesome performance at noon as he does at midnight he simply chooses not to.

100% is 100% and I will never believe Axl gives it more than other guys. He simply doesn't. He gives what he's got in the tank  and that's that, just like others do. Can anybody tell me that Eddie Vedder isn't giving it his all here and while doing so sounds fucking amazing? I'm not saying it's better but for anyone to suggest Axl gives more effort than some of these other guys is ridiculous. Results based is simply your musical taste and it does not equate to a higher effort level. But I do agree when Axl is on he's one of the very best ever.
