None of you have EVER EVER heard singers, that are "better singers than Axl" at the local bar.

Have heard TONS of guitar players that could duplicate Slash. Some on this board.

I wish I could sing, I'd sing wherever I went, but unfortunately since I havnt remotely held a tune since my voice broke at 12 year old, I have to make do with miming into the hairbrush.

You aren't going to the right bars.  There are far, far, far better singers than Axl out there.  Axl isn't a good singer, he's a unique singer.  There's a pretty significant difference.

you are right..thanks for proving everyone's point. Axl has now become the guy at the local bar....100 million albums later. Hey, everyone sells 100 million...I love U2.

nobody in 1988 was imitating his voice?....nobody was imitating his little dance?  You guys are so wrong and I am tired of hearing it. If you were in college in Athens, ga in 1988-1989, the chicks loved Lies and SCOM....AND nobody was acting like the guitar player. They were doing Axl's little sashe and rocking out.

Either Axl or Slash could be replicated by a "clone peformer" with technical ability - either a powerful voice or shredastic guitar fingers.

But all that person will ever do is be able to copy what they've done. It's why you don't see people getting excited to hear new albums from even the best GNR cover bands. They are copies.

People are "as good" a singer or a guitarist on paper.

But if you want to talk biggeer picture rather than pure technique alone: Chrisma, Artistic Perspective, Creativity, Passion and Emotion both of them are unique tallents...there's almost no one who could touch either of them.

to amp up the convo....there are more guitar players that can do what Slash does than there are singers that can do what Axl does.

Millions of guitarist can play Slash's material but only a handful of guitarist in the history of music can write his level of riffs/solos

Huge difference in composing and covering
