Re: Rehearsals Streaming
The beat goes on.
Axl sucks
He can't sing anymore
They should be playing theaters
They're a glorified cover band
They're nothing more than a bar band at this point
Why can't they start the show on time?
They have no respect for their fans
They should be playing only new music
They shouldn't be living off the past
Ron can't hold Buckethead's jock
DJ's a Slash wannabe
They're all afraid to speak
This band sucks
Keep up the good work guys. Never get tired of these arguments. They're SO interesting to read and original. Very insightful. Thank you for that.
Back on topic (sort of), completely agree with those saying Axl has NEVER really been a great (consistent) live performer (vocally). This is nothing, all of a sudden. You can blame it on his age, or his lack of caring, or whatever you want. But it's ALWAYS been that way. Why do you think he wanted to overdub the shit out of Live Era? He was always a madman running around onstage, which doesn't help the instrument. Eddie Vedder sounds great live, but he stands there like a statue. Which is fine, nothing wrong with that. But that's not Axl's style. He goes all out. You can hear the "perfection" on each of the official releases. When you're at the show, sing along, have a good time, and try not to worry about whether he hits all the notes perfectly or not. Just an idea.
Re: Rehearsals Streaming
Saw Guns 3 times in 2006 and 2 of the 3 shows Axl was fucking terrible. Saw Guns in 2010 and Axl sounded fucking awesome. 2011 or 2012(honestly when is this tour happening?).... we'll see.
And this notion that Axl goes all out while others don't is nonsense. Vedder goes all out just a different style. Running around on stage does not equate to givin' it more than others

Re: Rehearsals Streaming
Axl was inconsistent back in the 80s and 90s, and he's still inconsistent. The difference today is that when he's great, he's not that great than he used to be. Comes with age and no practice.

Re: Rehearsals Streaming
he is trapped in a very difficult and demanding vocal style and anybody that has tried to copy him should know that.
Ive seen Chris Cornell be sublime and flat also, it happens, nature won't allow you to be 'the man' every night.
