Re: Rehearsals Streaming
DJ ashba admits to being a fan of GNR prior to his involvement with the band.
He becomes a pro guitarist. Then he gets hired to join GNR in the Slash/Robin role.
If I were him I would know every lick of every GNR track ever recorded just in case Axl ever gets in the mood to play it.
Like many of you I have a feeling that GNR may make this Rio gig a little special by busting out some unheard tracks or something the post-slash band has never peformed...and estranged is an obvious choice as its loved by the fanbase, known by the public (cos of the video) and probably something DJ knew as a youngin and would help complete his slash evolution....but in and of it's self that DJ was messing around with it doesn't mean too much.
Re: Rehearsals Streaming
I dunno man, that section he played was a strange choice to bust out of nowhere, sounded more like he's been practising the song a lot lately and it just popped out subconsciously.
But whatever, we'll find out at Rio
Hope this doesnt mean no more live streams from behind the scenes, it was interesting stuff.
TWAT sounded pretty cool as well, they played it slower than it is on the record. I found myself singing along and realised it would be so much easier for Axl to sing it at that pace, the studio version doesnt leave room to inhale between sentences.
Wonder if that was another unintentional revelation, cause all the other songs they played were at their proper speed.

Re: Rehearsals Streaming
jesus..its just fucking music..why all the yanking of videos and silencing of band members? Its just as ID says, probably some trigger happy entourage flunkie trying to second guess the boss and keep things just as he likes them.
I was actually excited that this band was moving to a more media friendly approach to the US as the dates come in. Sadly, all hopes that go up must come DOWN.
FAIL.

I hope to God it doesen't get to THAT level!
A lot of people may have liked it. Me, not so much!
A fan friendly approach would only do good. A band member, who's intelligent enough, easy to like and actually speaks... it's what GN'R need to change their current media-hater, fan-hostile, hysterical super secret image.
