Re: New Album
I've actually had closure since not long after the album came out. Makes for a much more peaceful existance. Once it was clear to me that the rest of the world doesn't see this as the same band (and Slash's solos weren't getting butchered live), nothing they do or don't do really bothers me.
I do get disappointed still from time to time, but nothing like the emotional response I used to get.
I think a lot of people got their closure with Chinese Democracy, mabye thats how the forums became so much quieter when it came out.
To me CD stills feels incomplete, I'm hanging on for that 2nd part to Axls "double album." When it comes, no matter how good or bad it is, it will be enough for me and I'll be waving goodbye.
I'm worn out with them and their worthless attitude towards us, and any belief I had in them to do great things has been eroded away. The only hope I have left in them is that one day the rest of those Chinese Democracy sessions will be released, and until that fateful day I'll just hang on in there

Good on him, this whole band attitude of denying fans any basic info incase it threatens national security is so 2004.

My opinion is that he should have released a double album and charged for the price of a single CD when the Best Buy deal was done . Reward the fans for the long wait, get paid, square up with the record company, and wash your hands of the previous 10 years.
Agreed. The Bucket stuff with a former band is almost worthless now. Not for me it's not, but it's an album from another era. It could just as well have been 2001 and GNR releasing an album meant for 1994. If they re-do them with Ron then I just feel bummed knowing Bucket would have done a better job my ears. DJ Ashba however is another story as anything he does is miles ahead of any Fincking on guitar.
Just get rid of them...release the damn thing as it is as Chinese Democracy II, get Tommy and DJ into the studio, write up the songs and go release a third.

maybe the rest of the stuff Axl has put away is all garbage, anyway I sometimes wonder if there will ever be a new "GN'R" album but then I realize life's too short to worry about shit like that, I mean I am still a GN'R fan, I always will be but I also have other stuff to keep me busy.

it doesn't matter if it's the best music gnr has ever created. a brilliant album full of twats - ha ha - isn't gonna sell more than 1, 2, or maybe 3 million copies in the current culture and industry of dl's and a twat like song won't sell much as a single on itunes either. Reworking the songs will ony make them worse. for these reasons, amogst every other, gnr needs to target the hardcores and past generation mullets. release what's in the vault (as is) right now, right before the tour. don't fuck it up in attempt to include and market current members. there's no point in that other than to please the current members. you can please the current members by writing/recording/releasing brand new material as band after the tour or whenever. until then, give the only people who still care about new material what they want.
