Next album not in production...yet. Let's get all the shows outta the way

@SoulMonster A lot of the songs we did that weren't on Chinese Democracy may be redone and put on the next album. Unsure yet.
Good to know, puts any fantasies of a new album along with the US tour to bed.
It might be bad news but I like it when a band member just comes right out with the truth, rather than muttering some noncommittal bullshit before going on to plug their solo shit.
Re: New Album
Guess Tommy's really into it now.
Anyone else find it funny that he suddenly starts spilling all sorts of beans on his Twitter?
Even the description field reads as The General's official Twitter, which is a joke only available to hardcores.
New lease on life maybe? Whatever it is I hope it continues.
Re: New Album
a little more that I put in the twitter thread

Surely you can't keep touring the same album. Time for new GN'R to create again. Don't be a tribute band fellas.
tommy_stinson
didn't say we don't have other songs.

Can you confirm dates in November as you mentioned earlier: http://bit.ly/jfdOQb ?
tommy_stinson
A LOT more dates are being talked about. I'll leave it to the big guys to announce as/when.

Re: New Album
Well it's good to know what's going on to avoid too much specualtion.
I do hope that one day we get to hear the other new GNR material one day though. But it sounds like the current plan is to rock out the usa tour and that sorting out the next album will happen after that if at all.
Re: New Album
If they havnt done that by now, I doubt they ever will.
Tommy's message is as close as we've got to getting the truth about any new material, and I'm actually quite satisfied knowing its not happening anytime soon. Its being teased and being left hanging for so long that gets everyone's back up.
If Axl came out tomorrow and said there will be no new Guns N'Roses albums, I'd be disapointed but very glad to know, at least it would be some kind of closure on this ridiculous saga we've all been following for over a decade.
Re: New Album
I've actually had closure since not long after the album came out. Makes for a much more peaceful existance. Once it was clear to me that the rest of the world doesn't see this as the same band (and Slash's solos weren't getting butchered live), nothing they do or don't do really bothers me.
I do get disappointed still from time to time, but nothing like the emotional response I used to get.
