Re: Amy Winehouse Discussion
Can you guys stop bumping this thread? Every time I forget about this waste of "talent" someone has to bump the thread. She's dead. It's sad. It's not surprising. Someday these will be released and make more money than she made when she was alive for someone that doesn't deserve any of it. End of story.

I don't think anyone is twisting your arm to join in on the discussion. There are plenty of threads I could care less about. You know what I do? Avoid them. Give it a try, it seems to work wonders for me.

I think you're a fucking disgrace for that repeated trolling about someone who died.
If she was a no talent this thread wouldn't exist, if no one cared the BBC the main TV channel here in the UK, wouldn't have decicated 4hrs of TV to her last night with tributes and performances of most of her songs.
Her death wouldn't been reported all over the world and Back to Black wouldn't be one of the most critically aclaimed albums and award winning records by a female artist in history.
Re: Amy Winehouse Discussion
Buzz is entitled to his opinion. It's obvious he's no fan of Amy Winehouse, and that's fine. I just don't see the need to contribute to this thread over and over that she's a no talent and we shouldn't be talking about her. Point taken, let's move on.

There's no trolling involved. This stupid thread keeps popping up to the top of the list for no reason. There's no new news. There's nothing to be said. When there's something new, feel free to post it. Her music blows. She's overrated and known for being a fuck up more than anything else. That's not anything to be proud of.
I must have really owned you in some discussion for you to have such a hard-on for me. If anybody's a troll, it's you. You never post anything here that isn't bashing someone or bashing the site. You're a fucking tool.
Re: Amy Winehouse Discussion
Just because the media reports anything doesn't mean anyone gives a flying shit.
The media sells a product. A product that YOU buy and pay for. And that product is YOU SHOULD CARE that Amy Winehouse died.
Why should you care? So you can go buy her fucking albums, and her fucking greatest hits tribute set that's guranteed to come.
It's all about the benjamins baby. Don't even worry about that.
Nobody really cares that Amy died. Did you cry? No. Did you hold a candlelight vigil? No.
I'm sorry Amy died, but i'm FAR MORE sorry that murdered kids die.
Amy was an addict who wrecked her body. I'm sure she was ready to go, or she would've fuckin' stopped. RIP Amy, i'm sure you're happier now, but am I tragically destroyed by the untimely death of a great talent? No, i'll say that when Paul McCartney dies. That's an actual talent.
Re: Amy Winehouse Discussion
You can't take it personally. What other people think should have no effect on your enjoyment of that person's art. Heck, I think MJ was a clown in his personal life, but I can respect his talent. I love a lot of his music. I was sad when he died. Beyond that, I didn't care. If anybody would have said what I said about Amy when he died, I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

Re: Amy Winehouse Discussion
It will again raise the question of the ethics of releasing unfinished songs after an artists death.
I feel two ways about this.
On one hand - I can see the logic that it can tarnish the legacy of an artist - when works that were still at drafting stage, or maybe just scrapped experiments are polished up after death and released to co-exist with the offical product of the artist. Especially when in some cases they've been reworked by other musicans and may result in end products that the original artists would not condone or approve of. It sort of seems wrong.
On the other hand - sometimes I shudder to think of the muscal ideas that can be lost to time. The great songs that someone with incredible ability may compose and then sit on for whatever reason - and then to have those die with the artist seems a loss for greater society and art in the long run. Especially when - lets face it - much of the music business isn't about the music - there's a lot of politics and money issues that decisions end up being made based on.
So I see it as sort of a vexed issue.
