Many of those bands are now starting to seep into American music culture

Not since the death of Michael Jackson have we seen a buting frenzy like that of Amy Winehouse.
Death has been the ultimate promotional tool for Amy Winehouse. 24 hours after being found dead in her London apartment, the two Amy Winehouse albums ‘Frank’ and ‘Back To Black’ are hits all over the world.
In Australia, Amy is taking up the number 2, 3 and 4 spots with ‘Back To Black’, ‘Frank’ & ‘Back To Black’ double pack and ‘Back To Black’ deluxe edition on iTunes.
In the UK, ‘Back To Black’ is at number 1, ‘Frank’ & ‘Back To Black’ double pack are at 3, ‘Back To Black’ deluxe edition is at 5 and ‘Frank’ is at 6.
In the USA ‘Back To Black’ is no.1, ‘Frank’ no. 3, ‘Back To Black’ deluxe edition is at 6 and ‘Back To Black’ b-sides is at 7.
‘Back To Black’ is also at no.1 on the iTunes chart in Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Holland and Portugal.

For the record, I don't believe I ever said she was new or ground breaking. I'm just saying she had a unique voice and I'm going to miss it.
And I'm just saying that I will completely forget about her once this thread drops off the main page.

Seems like Amy Winehouse's dad is a bit of a nut, doing his best to capitalize off his daughters death so I wouldn't put too much credence into this story. But an interesting take to say the least.

Amy Winehouse May Have Died Because She Stopped Drinking Alcohol

At present the 'Rehab' singer's cause of death is unknown but it is possible her decision to try and quit booze completely after years of heavy drinking
Choosing to quit completely could have caused her body a shock or seizure which killed her at her home in Camden, north London, last Saturday.
A source said: "Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death."
Reports had suggested the 27-year-old star had been drinking heavily and had possibly taken drugs in the days leading up to her death, but her father Mitch has refuted the claims, insisting the opposite is true.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "He has wanted everyone to know that he, her boyfriend Reg Traviss and her manager believed it was actually the complete opposite.
"He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid bingeing at all costs. Amy told him she couldn't do that. It was all or nothing and she gave up completely.
"Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take."
A post-mortem was held on Monday, the day before Amy's funeral, to try and determine the cause of her death but the results were deemed inconclusive and medical officials are awaiting the results of histology and toxicology tests.
Police have now begun probing into what Amy was between 8pm on Friday night and 4pm the next day when she was discovered deceased by one of her security guards.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She had a chaotic lifestyle and often she would head out late at night or even in the early hours of the morning to see friends.
"No one really knows what she did after she was checked on by her doctor at 8pm and before she was found dead at 4pm the next day.
"There is a possibility she left her home at some point during the evening, and some of her friends believe she may have headed out later."

Shouldn't be a shock to anyone as this always seems to happen when someone dies. Keep that money rolling in any way you can before people move on.

New Amy Winehouse Music In The Can

Amy Winehouse is said to have completed her vocals for 12 new songs that may eventually be released.
Winehouse had been working on a third album with producer Mark Ronson over the past three years.
The songs, while unfinished, do feature the complete vocals that only require musicians and a producer to complete.
As recently as January, Winehouse was talking about an album to be released around now. She compared the songs to being similar to her second album ‘Back To Black’.
Universal Music, Amy’s record company, has no official plans for a release.

Can you guys stop bumping this thread? Every time I forget about this waste of "talent" someone has to bump the thread. She's dead. It's sad. It's not surprising. Someday these will be released and make more money than she made when she was alive for someone that doesn't deserve any of it. End of story.
