Re: MTV to bring back 'Beavis & Butt-Head'
MTV is bringing back 'Beavis & Butt-Head'
by Tara Ariano / The Set
Even as MTV makes headlines for its controversial current programming, it's worth remembering that some of the brands it launched back in the '90s are still going strong. For instance: "The Real World," which will air its 25th season this year. Or Carson Daly: The former "TRL" host was just announced as the host of NBC's upcoming singing competition "The Voice." Now, another MTV mainstay from the '90s is preparing for a revival: "Beavis & Butt-Head" is coming back.
MTV used its upfronts presentation yesterday to announce the news, which was swiftly Tweeted by attendee Justin Bieber: "solid day in NYC. played hoops and just went to the MTV Upfronts...BEAVIS and BUTTHEAD are coming back!!!"
The show, of course, ran between 1993 and 1997, which means that if Bieber (born in 1994) ever saw it during its initial run, he has terrible parents. Though many minors watched the show, it was not intended for children — a fact hammered home when an Ohio woman brought suit against the show, claiming that its depiction of the title characters playing with fire led her five-year-old son to burn down their home.
New episodes of "Beavis & Butt-Head" — which, executives should hope, doesn't get the network sued again — will début this summer. And hey, if the show does well, maybe MTV will consider a do-over for the beloved "B&B" spinoff "Daria," too.

I thought them making fun of Snooki and Jersey Shore was HILARIOUS!
You're gonna find this hard to believe, but it'll be really cool to see my 1990's afternoons back.
Believe it or not, when I got done with school in the mid-90's, I wanted to rush home, because reruns of Beavis & Butt-head aired at 3pm & 3:30pm on MTV, then I flipped it over to TNN to watch reruns (my first viewing) of Dallas.
How ironic both shows are being brought back within months of each other. Just a little Axlin trivia for ya there...
