It's pretty different, there's a lot of spoken word stuff on the first album, and instrumental stuff.

Does have two very cool songs though IMO:

Yeah, I've heard those two tracks already, but I've been meaning to check out the whole album.

I actually never gave The Heroin Diaries much of a chance because I just thought Nikki Sixx's solo projects were awful in the past...

But I checked out This Is Gonna Hurt solely because of DJ Ashba, and was just blown away.

I'm also gonna go back and give a chance to The Heroin Diaries.

Maybe Sixx:AM is how DJ got the job in GN'R. Maybe Axl is a fan and wants to go that direction?

There is stuff on the Heroin Diaries that strongly resembles Chinese Democracy

DJ tweeted this link out.

Pretty big accomplishment.  HOPEFULLY, he can bring that kind of excitement to the GNR camp when/if we hear some new music from them.

Being a beautiful liar has its benefits and privileges, as Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx and his other band Sixx: A.M. well know. The group just cruised into the No. 1 slot on the Active Rock radio charts this week. It's the band's first numero uno, so Noisecreep offers them a big congrats on this impressive feat. The song is the first single from the band's second album, 'This is Gonna Hurt,' and it was firmly lodged into the No. 2 slot for six weeks before bulldozing its way into the top slot.

In a statement, frontman James Michael said, "A number one single is a great accomplishment for me, DJ and Nikki. Outside radio, using other media sources has helped us reach even more people and it's amazing that the fans have reacted so strongly to the song and its message. We are flattered and honored."

The band enjoyed radio success with their debut, 'The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack,' which birthed the hit 'Life is Beautiful, which was the most played rock song of 2008. Even though the track enjoyed lots of airplay, it wasn't a #1.

I still think Axl needs to run this guy into the studio and ride the wave.

Say what you want about DJ, the guy is apart of what's "in" and what sells right now.

Without a reunion, it might be Axl's last chance to do something big.

I still think This is Gonna Hurt is one of the best rock albums to come out so far this year. Crank this album up loud and rock the fuck out to it! 9

I agree with Axlin08 too, Axl should get into a studio now and take advantage of the situation!
