Yeah, Knoxville always came across as a bit of a 'jock', Bam was hyper, and the rest were weird asses... but Dunn seemed like the most down to earth.

Your stance makes perfect sense.

If the guy died for speeding and being drunk, then he's a dumbass (or jackass). Plain n' simple.

No amount of love, support, understanding, and compassion will surpass his legacy of being stupid and dying for NO REASON.

IF that is the case. It's all the more sad that someone else died to.

The whole thing was entirely avoidable, in theory. But still, it doesn't make it any less tragic.

Jackass Star Ryan Dunn Cause of Death Confirmed
By Paul Cashmere

Jackass star Ryan Dunn died by “blunt and thermal trauma” according to the Chester County Coroner’s Office.

Dunn and Zachary Hartwell (who worked as a production assistant on Jackass Number Two) died instantly when Dunn’s 2007 Porsche flew off a highway and into a patch of trees about 50 kilometres outside Philadelphia.

Just hours before, Dunn had tweeted a picture of himself drinking with friends.

Police say the car was travelling at “a high speed”.

Just hours after Dunn’s death, movie critic Roger Ebert tweeted an outrageous and insensitive statement saying, “friends, don't let Jackasses drink and drive”. Facebook suspended his account after the comment. It was later reinstated.

Today, the critic explained his comments in his column saying that his thoughts were impossible to clarify when limited to Twitter’s 140 characters”. He then offered his sympathy to the family and friends of Dunn and Hartwell and wrote “I also regret that my tweet about the event was considered cruel.”

Ryan Dunn Killed In Car Crash, Bam Margera Lashes At Roger Ebert Insensitivity
By Paul Cashmere

Jackass star Ryan Dunn has died in a car crash in Pennsylvania.

Dunn was in West Goshen, 50 kilometres outside Philadelphia, when his 2007 Porsche lost control killing himself and a yet-to-be identified passenger. The 34 year old actor and co-star of the Jackass franchise was the driver of the car.

Police have said speed was a contributing factor to the crash but just hours earlier Dunn had tweeted pictures of himself drinking with friends.

Moments after his death was announced, film critic Roger Ebert made a comment this insensitive comment on Twitter. "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn, RIP. His Porsche flew through 40 yards of trees. Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive”.

That led to outrage from Jackass co-star Bam Margera. Margera tweeted “I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of shit roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents.”

“About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, fuck you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat fucking mouth!”

Ebert responded, “Perez Hilton's readers agree with me and not with Perez about my tweet on Ryan Dunn. He drank, he drove, 2 people died”.

Dunn starred in the three Jackass movies and was also the host of the G4 network show ‘Proving Ground’.

I dont agree with the fuck off attitude. At the end of the day someone lost their life and they had family and friends who loved them. Totally out of line for Ebert to post that garbage. I'd knock him the fuck out if I was Bam and saw him in person.

And from someone who has had a DUI, mistakes are made. No one is perfect.

Exactly...a DUI is a dumb thing to do (no disrespect to posters here who've done it) but I don't see how that means he deserved it. Does everyone who's ever done anything dumb, or for that matter anyone who isn't super intelligent deserve to die? Makes no sense.

IF it was due to a stupid and avoidable situation like a DUI then rather than hating on him for it, that just makes it all the more sad and tragic to me.

I agree. The guy already gave his life. Yes it was stupid, yes it was a mistake, but have some respect.

And I just want to say, if Roger Ebert killed over with a heart attack from eating too much fat all those years... it'd be like saying "fuck him, he should've put the fork down".

Just as ignorant and insensitive. RIP Ryan and to his passenger, and my thoughts go out to Bam, who seems to really be taking this very hard.

The dude had been drinking, and twice over the amount of what is legal in the state. And then he drives over 200 km/t? He was asking for it. There's no respect coming from me if someone does shit like that. No one deserves to die, but when you DUI you usually put other lives in risk as well and if you're gonna be dumb at least just kill yourself and not others. He could have easily killed other drivers.

I'm sorry for Bam and his family and fans. Maybe they will learn from his mistakes.
