Yeah, Kat Von D is engaged to Jesse James now, but obviously was a major part of Nikki's life for some time.

Another video lesson, although riff-wise, there's nothing too hard to play here.
I like how he breaks down the solo parts though.:mosh:

Just read one of Axlin's posts in the main section about the SixxAM song, "Are You With Me".  I was going to comment there, but figured this was a better spot.  I'm loving that song.  Hands down my favorite on the album.  And overall the album is growing on me.  My first listen, I liked about half the songs right off the bat (the first half of the album).  Second listen, I liked a little more, though I still think the first half is much stronger.

The album does seem commercially appealing.  Maybe DJ can bring that to the table for GNR.

I'm starting to get into this album too. At first listen it seemed so "modern" that I was a little off put - but when you relisten there's really some cool guitar parts if you dig into it a bit (like the solos in those lessons are kinda nice).

There's some quite strong songs too. It seems much more of an album this time around, the first record was fun but more of a concept companion piece recording. This one really seems to be more like a 'band" if you like.

Yeah, DJ has some great soloing in this.

I was totally won over by him with this album.

If DJ can bring that kind of soulful, yet technical aspect to a new GN'R album, he might be the first 'real deal' in the band since Slash. Robin... whatever... Bucket was too out there for any real consistency with Guns direction (whatever that was).

DJ has a sound, a feel, and a profiency that can tap into that mainstream audience like Slash did.
