Re: Journey's new CD a masterpiece?
I won't call it a masterpiece, but I'd say it's the best since Escape. Yes, even surpassing Frontiers as a whole, top to bottom.
. The best rock record of the year so far. Laugh at me if you want, but these guys are pushing 60 and are on top of their game--again. To go out and do something so out of their comfort zone at this stage of their career is astounding.
Better than Frontiers and Raised on Radio? Raised on Radio had some filler, but you've made a pretty bold statement. I was a Journey nutswinger in my youth but haven't gave a shit about them in YEARS. You have great taste in music so you definitely have me interested. Haven't even digested this new GaGa album yet but I'm gonna download this album and give it a shot.
You saying Schon is at the top of his game is another reason its a must listen. Like Thayil, he's one of those great guitar players that is always overlooked for various reasons.
Re: Journey's new CD a masterpiece?
I didn't even buy the last album with Pineda. Just wasn't interested, but the buzz around this caught my attention.
There is no Separate Ways or Faithfully on Eclipse, but then again, there's no Back Talk, Troubled Child or Rubicon, and that's a good thing.
It does however have one of the worst Journey songs ever, She's a Mystery. It just doesn't fit on this ablum
And, this is a Wal-Mart exclusive Russ. You wouldn't find it at Best Buy.
