Re: SAMMY HAGAR Says He Was Asked To Join VELVET REVOLVER, ect...ect...
I stand corrected, that Moist guy sounds more like a higher-pitched Gavin Rossdale, who in turn was also a Eddie Vedder clone.
I don't hear anything really bad, but in all those clips he sounds boring to my ears, and I don't think he'd suit VR at all.

Sammy Rocks, VR with Sammy would be much better than Chickenfoot.

I think Hagar would've been just fine as long as he was kept FAR away from the writing process.
Slash & Duff writing the album, with maybe some outsourcing to some professional song writers, with Sammy leading on vocals.
They would've probably pumped out at least ONE rockin' album.

No doubt Sammy with VR would be good, but better than Chickenfoot? I don't think so.
With Chickenfoot, you have Sammy and Mike's vocal harmonies, straight from Van Halen, and a guitar virtuoso Satriani just like Eddie, and Chad Smith is a great rock drummer too.
So we're almost getting Van Halen type of stuff from them, which considering Van Halen themselves can't get their shit together, is great.
I consider Chickenfoot's debut the follow up to Balance that never came out.

Well, Slash would write more in the vein of Montrose and early Hagar... With more balls and attitude than what Satch can do. I like Satch, but he isn't a great "rock" guitarist...

The only guy who could possibly fit that mold besides Axl from that era is Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, neither of which are gonna join up with VR.
Everyone else that fits that bill is older. Tyler, Plant, Rodgers, etc.
Yes on Cornell, but not Vedder. Vedder is a damn good songwriter but I think his voice is a fucking joke compared to Axl's.
