Re: SAMMY HAGAR Says He Was Asked To Join VELVET REVOLVER, ect...ect...
I think it would have been cool, but Sammy is far too distinct a vocalist, and it would've sounded too much like Van Halen or Chickenfoot. I think he's a great fit with the Chickenfoot guys anyway, and I'm looking forward to their new album.

Sadly, I think they need someone that can sing like Sebastian Bach and write like Bob Dylan. There aren't a lot of those people floating around, and when your starting point was Axl Rose, it's pretty hard to find someone that is close to what he was as a writer and frontman.

The only guy who could possibly fit that mold besides Axl from that era is Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, neither of which are gonna join up with VR.
Everyone else that fits that bill is older. Tyler, Plant, Rodgers, etc.

No? Fair enough. Bland? Please!
Maybe you're hearing something that I'm not, but from that clip you posted, he sounded like a really bad second rate Eddie Vedder clone, and I like Eddie Vedder.

Worst comparison of all time. David Usher and Eddie Vedder sound absolutely NOTHING alike and they are two of my favorite frontmen. they have zero in common vocally.

Haha he sounds like the guy who did that Kryptonite song and every other douche on the radio
he sounds nothing like any of those clone bands and he's a ten times better lyrcist than 99% of all the guys who have ever been mentioned as a possible VR frontman. Anyone who says he sounds like every other douche on the radio clearly isn't listening. he may not be a fit for Vr but the comments about him so far are laughable. But to each their own. have fun discussing guys like sammy hagar
few more and I'll chime out.
