TOM CRUISE Training With AXL ROSE's Vocal Coach For 'Rock Of Ages' Film Adaptation - Apr. 12, 2011
According to The Wrap, Tom Cruise is preparing for role as role in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical "Rock Of Ages" — which showcases popular rock songs from the '70s and '80s — by training with Axl Rose's vocal coach.
The actor will star as Stacee Jaxx, an aging musician whose glory days are long past. Among the tunes Cruise will perform are BON JOVI's "Wanted Dead or Alive" and STYX's "Renegade".
"He's been studying with — seriously — Axl Rose's voice teacher like five hours a day," director Adam Shankman tells The Wrap. "The prognosis is more than excellent."
The movie is a love story told through the music of PAT BENATAR, BON JOVI, JOURNEY, POISON, TWISTED SISTER and other artists from the 1980s.

Interesting...but did this guy work with them before or after they got famous - like is he a guy the label gets in to make sure people don't loose their voice? I can't imagine Axl doin voice lessons back when he was living on slash's grandmas couch in la or whatever...but maybe I'm wrong.

Cruise is really scraping the bottom of the barrel these days.
Did ou know Katie Homes didn't do "The Dark Knight" cause of him?

Are you sure? I heard she wasn't offered the role because of the sideshow that was her and Tom Cruise when Batman Begins came out. They didn't want such a gong show surrounding the Dark Knight. Tom Cruise is nuts but I don't think even he's that nuts to tell her not to take that role. Maybe I'm wrong.
Either way Maggie sucked in the role. She may be a better actress but Katie played the role ten times better in my opinion.

Yes, Nolan said afterwards he wasn't happy she wasn't able to take the role, but was pleased with Maggie afterwards.
Holmes chose to do so Mad Money instead one of the worst reviewed films of the last decade on Toms advice.
