Re: Chinese Democracy now $1.99
I could see it being either way.
On one hand, at least over here, it's standard practise to discount the fuck out of an old version of something a few months before a re-issued version comes out.
So, say if Fox are bringing out a new 10 disc version of Back to the Future or something, the old box set will go on sale at a massive discount like months in advance.
So it could be that, that these units are being cleared because a new 2-disc version of the album is in the works.
Then again - it could be best buy just limiting their loss. If they've lost a lot of money over CD, maybe they're just getting something rather than nothing back from them - as the floor space and warehouse space alone is costly in retail terms.
So i'd say it could be either.

Re: Chinese Democracy now $1.99
I see it as a last dash attempt to make some money from the whole episode, even if it's just a few cents..
I guess they are done with CD the same as I am...
Re: Chinese Democracy now $1.99
Chinese is cooked and done....make every cent back you can. A reissue is FUCKIN STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put out a new album or dump everything in a box....one or the other. If not those two, then retire the Gnr brand or reunite.... a pretty simple business plan. 4 options...choose one and go with it.

I am with you- "Put out a new album & dump everything (OLD) in a box."
BUT.......
I bet we will see the Alt artwork already out there `spiced with a small amount of new art, CD track list with Dj Acoustic Better and a very different AXL sound on the lyrics.(MSL has/had this version), and one of the KOHD mixes. (mentioned by the MM as already recorded just needs EZ vocals)
Sent to BB exclusive to make up for CD flop. (Mentioned in Alleged emails)

Not sure if the vinyl is a different one than the already exisiting one. Wasn't there some trouble with the original vinyl release of CD?
