How about you fast foward to 2:51 where I prove you wrong. To say U2 isn't about performance is a flat out joke. People aren't going to see a light show and in this clip there's barely any stage production it's all about the bands performance. You don't become the biggest touring act in the world based on a light show. to suggest that is ridiculous.
It's ALL production man ALL production.
Grab me a video of U2 playing The Ritz, and i'll take a look.

Unbelievable that you think U2 got to where they are by not being great performers. Surprising coming from you Axlin. How on earth does the biggest touring act in the last 30 years(maybe the Stones) get to that point if they aren't great performers? U2 built their reputation on performance and honestly dude you can only smoke and mirror things so much. And of course Bono shines the most he's one of the greatest frontmen of all time. The Edge is one of the most unique guitarists of all time but he doesn't wack off to pointless solos every single song so many people think he isn't a great performer. But maybe you're right and they've basically Millie Vanillied their way through their career
It's not the Ritz but here ya go

Sorry if there's too much production in those clips and if the venues aren't to your liking.

U2 are a great live band, but a lot of their spectacle is also their big stage show production. Since their Zoo TV tour, they set the bar pretty high.

I just bought the U2360 blu-ray and I thought it was fucking awful. I really, really, really wish I'd just held on to the memory of seeing them in 92 at the Silverdome rather than having watched that.
It's definitley not a good dvd. The 360 tour was never ment to be filmed. It's impossible to capture it on film. It does it no justice and it comes off flat. Their 2001 dvd live from Slane Castle(Elevation tour) is amazing and their dvd's from the Boston(Elevation tour) and Chicago(Vertigo tour) are pretty tight. Zoo TV and Popmart come off well on video as well but you're right this 360 tour does not translate to video whatsoever. Even the fan postings on youtube are lacking. Being there in person is a completely different thing though.
