That's all I was saying is that for me, Myles sucks on GN'R songs. Myles is a great vocalist, when he's doing his own thing, or he and Slash's originals. He just doesn't do GN'R songs well.

"Well Axl's the only guy that can do that"

I've seen guys on YouTube, nobody's, sing GN'R songs better than Myles. Myles tries to do his own thing with the GN'R songs, and it just doesn't work.

And as for Axl and his prime - you're totally wrong. Have you listened to 2010 Axl? He sounds like 1987. I haven't heard Axl sound that good since Ritz '88.

It's only even more sad that Slash's guitar tone is AFD-studio sounding right now. If Axl's 2010 voice with Slash's 2010 guitar could be put together in 2011, it'd be the return of vintage Guns N' Roses imo.

Nobody sings better Guns N' Roses than the crazy redhead. Even in 2002 with the helium voice he was the best possible singer for GN'R songs, cause these are HIS songs. (I don't think he'd be as good as he used to be, though. He's better than in 2002 or 2006, but still a shadow of himself and it will not get better. He wasted too many years.)

Same goes for Slash: even in his drugged-up, boozed, dying alcoholic demonic years he was better than anyone else on GN'R songs. I don't care about the BH or Finck fan club, they don't have more ground than the 'Myles is better than Axl on GN'R songs' fans. Sure, Myles sometimes performs really well, just like Bumble, Fortus or whoever else, but these songs are Axl's and Slash's songs, so noone can sing or play them like the Gods.

As great as Buckethead's takes on the GN'R material was...

VR with Slash & Duff, and sometimes Izzy... there was just a certain sound those guys have together that they, and ONLY they, can play those AFD songs the way they were meant to be heard.

There's a certain tone and feel that has yet to be duplicated by anyone, just like Axl's voice.

Can I just say - how bad ass is this set list?

Loving the mash up of tunes....if they're going to get into the old snakepit stuff occasionally - I'm begging for "Dime Store Rock" - that's one of those songs that Slash really nails live.

As for myles. Fuck man - even myles would say he doesn't sing them like Axl - NO ONE can - I've never heard anyone sing a GNR cover that didn't suck in comparision to Axl.

But that said...Axl doesn't wanna play with Slash again...and I think after seeing Slash return to doing GNR songs on this tour - we can all say that Slash playing these songs is a good idea for us fans!

So what Myles is, is a facilitator - that enables slash to get up and play the classic hits.

I mean look at this set list - Myles just did songs orginally sung by:

Ian astbury
Rod Jackson
Axl Rose
Himself
M. Shaddows
Lemmy
Alan Stockdale
Scot Weiland

and he sometimes also does Eric Dover and Fergie too.

How many dudes can do a tollerable public cover of that many people famous for thier unique voice and styles - and get away with it.

Give the guy some slack he's basically doing the impossible every night. And it allows slash to kick a serious amount of ass on stage.

Myles is one of the coolest must humble dudes in all of rock.  I will never say anything bad about him.  He has some pipes.  Axl's pipes on GNR songs are sick.  But no way could Axl pull off some of Myles' songs either.  And the acoustic sweet child o'mine where myles sings lower is awesome.

Axl trying to sing "Open Your Eyes" would be an epic fail.

Lol, I got to be honest, I haven't really listened to the 2010 shows in-depth, other than YouTube vids to hear where Axl's voice is at. I used to be a bootleg geek back in the day, but i've kind of moved on. I might not be the guy to ask that question to.

Umm, the only one I know off the top of my head video-wise is that Osaka 2009 show. I think 11-12 CD songs are played in the show, in addition to the back catalog stuff, and I think the show is almost all screenshot, so it's virtually a pro-shot show.

As for audio, the Tokyo 2009 show was the 2nd longest in GN'R history, so there's tons of songs.

BUT, both of those it's the current band at a very early stage, so they aren't as tight as they could be.

Like me for example - I have both of those boots, and i've yet to even pick them up after all this time. It's not that i'm a hater, boots just don't fire me up like they used to. I just rewatched Ritz '88 the other day for the first time in eons.

Although ALTER BRIDGE vocalist Myles Kennedy sang just two tracks on Slash's self-titled solo debut, Slash recently confirmed that Myles will sing everything on the guitarist's next solo effort.

Speaking to Triple M during his appearance at this year's Soundwave festival, Slash said, "I'm touring around with a sort of mobile studio and we're working on material that I'm gonna do with Myles for the next record. And I'm looking at, probably... It'll be early next year."

In a recent interview with The Pulse Of Radio, Kennedy said about the fact that Slash would like him to handle the lead vocals on the guitarist's next CD, "It's very flattering. I think there's kind of a cool thing we got going. We really enjoy working with each other. I know they're auditioning singers now for VELVET REVOLVER, so I don't know if they find the right guy if that'll affect things timing-wise. I'm not really sure. But the plan right now is that yeah, we'll do a record together down the road."

Slash's debut disc came out last year and featured a different singer on each track, including Chris Cornell, Ozzy Osbourne, M. Shadows and others.
