Re: BBF: New song released -"Invisible"
Well, the lyrics are terrible to me. Absolutely horrid. Trying way too hard.
"ice on fire"?
"Until I woke up in a big ol' empty bed
Then I knew what it was like to be left for dead"
"had the world by the balls"
Cliche, nonsensical, elementary.
It's why I listen to instrumental music now 95 percent of the time. Give me a good Pelican song and I'm happy.

I can understand your appreciation for instrumental stuff, because of the cliche that music has become.
But come on, it's rock music. I thought you were a Dream Theater fan? They've been writing crap like that for years, and frankly - so has AC/DC, and so did Slash, Izzy & Duff in their solo work.
I don't see at all why Invisible couldn't be a GN'R b-side with a little fine tuning on the lyrics.

Then I knew what it was like to be left for dead
Can't find the answers, more questions fill my head
Now I know what it's like to be invisible, invisible"
Pure poetry, brother. Pure poetry.
Re: BBF: New song released -"Invisible"
I'm not a fan of instrumentals, so I'll take lyrics any day, shitty or not. And most of the time the quality of lyrics don't really matter. Scott Weiland wrote some pretty non-sensical stuff for VR, but I dug the songs just the same. The only song I abhorred the lyrics to where I couldn't enjoy the song was that "Baby Can't Drive" bonus song on Slash's solo disc. Now those were some awful lyrics. Better yet, an awful concept for a song.

Yes, I am a DT fan. I'll be honest, I don't even read the lyrics. Some songs I know all the words to, some I don't. "Count of Tuscany" got blasted for having terrible lyrics, but the song is so good, I didn't even notice.
Not a fan of AC/DC, Slash solo, Duff solo. Izzy yes.
Maybe I'm hard on lyrics in general, but Ron's don't impress me, and that was one of my main problems with the Slash CD. Some of the lyrics are gawdawful.
Anyway, carry on.
Ron needs to do stuff like this because GNR is not going to be his outlet. For his sake, I hope he takes advantage of this downtime and just unloads everything he's thinking about right now.
