GUNS N' ROSES To Play ROCK IN RIO Festival? - Mar. 20, 2011
According to Brazilian journalist Ancelmo Gois, who publishes a column at influential newspaper O Globo, GUNS N' ROSES will likely perform at this year's Rock In Rio festival. Roberto Medina, the event's organizer, allegedly spoke last week with the band's frontman, Axl Rose, and is expected to announce GN'R's participation in the festival later today (Sunday, March 20).
GUNS N' ROSES performed at the second and third editions of Rock In Rio, in 1991 and 2001, respectively.
The 2011 Rock In Rio festival will take place September 23 - October 2 in "The City Of Rock" in Olympic Park, Barra da Tijuca/Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bands that are confirmed to perform at the event include ANGRA, COHEED AND CAMBRIA, METALLICA, MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA and SLIPKNOT.
The Rock In Rio festivals are massive events, drawing millions of people and a diverse roster of local and international artists.
Tickets are on sale now at the Rock in Rio official web site, www.rockinrio.com.br.

Over a year's arts festival, even before the confirmation of the fourth edition in Brazil, the fans of the bands Guns N 'Roses have already expressed their desire to have Axl Rose and Co. in Rock in Rio again. So much so that in June 2010 launched a campaign # GNRROCKINRIOBRAZIL2011 quickly embraced by several people - among them members of the band itself.
Since then there have been numerous campaigns, posts on Twitter, videos on youtube, thousands of posts and comments on all networks of the Rock in Rio and the band claims that another chapter of this love story between one of Malor's Hard Rock bands History and festival largest in the world were written.
