The Fighter
Great acting, great movie. I would not be surprised if this picked up a couple of oscars.
Re: Most Recent Movie You've Seen
Watched a bunch of films lately
The Godfather Parts 1 and 2 on bluray. Here's a suprise for me, for the longest time I've prefered the first part since I've seen it several times. I last saw Part II around ten years ago. After watching both of these films in the last two weeks, I think I prefer the second one now. The story is a tad better and the "prequel" section of the film was actually quite better than I remember it. Al Pacino shows more of his acting chops in the second one. Only gripe is that it's a little too long for my taste at 3hrs 20 minutes. They could have also used Diane Keaton more in the film and cut back on some of the casino/Roth plotline.
I still enjoyed the first one but I gained a bigger appreciation for the second one.
Confessions (2010)--one of the nine Oscar nominated foreign films. Very good. Depends on a different structure than most films. It's somewhat bleak in tone and appearance. Reminds me a little of Oldboy in terms of plot structure and theme.
I Saw the Devil (2010)--Directed by the guy who did "A Tale of Two Sisters". This one probably could be the fourth part of Park's Vengeance series. Stars Min Sik Choi (from Oldboy and Lady Vengeance) and is an extremely bloody film. Not much character development but that's a minor gripe. I saw the cut version and that was quite bloody. James Lofton should enjoy this one.
Re: Most Recent Movie You've Seen
Finally got around to watching Inception
It's good. More visual than story. Definitely ambitious. I still think Nolan might be a tad overrated outside his Batman films.
It was cool to see Tom Berenger get some theatrical screen work for the first time in eons. Always an underrated actor.

Re: Most Recent Movie You've Seen
Watched Battle: Los Angeles tonight.
It had a few moments but overall a pretty poor movie, being a big scifi fan I was looking forward to it too.
Watchable but not memorable.
Re: Most Recent Movie You've Seen
The Runaways.
Very good. Really dug it. I didn't think I'd like Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, really only watched it because I wanted to see Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, but Dakota really impressed me. Cool movie. It was like Oliver Stone's The Doors, but with period blood. FANTASTIC soundtrack.
They needed a real screenwriter, though.
Oh, and Elvis's granddaughter is usually a lot hotter than she was in this movie. But she's still hot.

I'm gonna have to watch both those films. They're definitely right up my alley.
