Have you watched the @foofighters' new lo-fi video for "Rope" yet? It was shot entirely on VHS: http://bit.ly/f6D56E

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl filmed the video for "Rope," the first single from his band's seventh album Wasting Light, on VHS film to give the clip a gritty, lo-fi edge. It's a good look for the band, and very appropriate for their new music, which was recorded DIY-style in Grohl's garage.

Foo Fighters to release special covers album on April 16th
The rockers will release Medium Rare for Record Store Day next month as well as their new studio album. By Anthony Lund  on 11/03/2011

Was anyone aware of such a thing called Record Store Day? No, me neither, but the Foo Fighters have as they are releasing a new album of cover songs to promote the day in April.

The rock band are releasing the album, called Medium Rare, on 16th April on vinyl only in stores participating in the promotion. The album features reworkings of classic songs by Thin Lizzy, Cream, The Ramones, Pink Floyd and Paul McCartney & Wings amongst others.

Many of the tracks on the album have been released in other forms but this is the first time they have all appeared on one vinyl LP, and two of the tracks are new.

The Foos release their new studio album next month, which means two releases for fans in April.

The complete track list for Medium Rare is:

'Band On The Run' (Paul McCartney & Wings)
'I Feel Free' (Cream)
'Life of Illusion' (Joe Walsh)
'Young Man Blues' (Mose Allison)
'Bad Reputation' (Thin Lizzy)
'Darling Nikki' (Prince)
'Down In The Park' (Gary Numan)
'Baker Street' (Gerry Rafferty)
'Danny Says' (The Ramones)
'Have A Cigar' (Pink Floyd)
'Never Talking To You Again' (Husker Du)
'Gas Chamber' (Angry Samoans)
'This Will Be Our Year' (The Zombies)

Looking forward to this movie, and the new album Wasting Light.

Rope, like all other Foo Fighters singles that have come out over the years, had a way of slowly creeping into my head, until all of a sudden, I'm totally in love with the song!

"on a kiss, thought I'd save my breath for you"

Love that lyric!

The band is currently in Australia on a promo tour, and they've been playing similar super-long set lists at their surprise small club gigs here.
