Re: Ozzy Osbourne Discussion
So he's not retiring then. Got to admit the end of the last album sounded like he was taking a bow and calling it a career.
I wonder if he'll keep Gus G around...overall the album wasn't that great to me but specific tracks I really liked, like "Let me hear you scream" - the way those drums and the riff kick back in after the solo is pretty metal!!!

Re: Ozzy Osbourne Discussion
Yeah, but after Black Rain, Ozzy said then he was gonna do "3 more albums", then retire.
Granted he was going to 'retire' several times, but most recently this is what he has stuck to. Supposedly there's Scream, one more album, and a finale album.
I gotta be honest, I think he'll sign off on these albums like this from now on. He never knows if he'll make it or want to for the next album.
Scream could very well be his last, who knows. The guy is getting older, and I never thought he'd make three more. If I were him i'd go ahead and start recording now, and shelve it. Wait, dust it off, fine tune it, record some more, by the end give it about 4-5 years from Scream, and then release an "ender", that's a conceptual swan song. I think it's pretty obvious you're not gonna see Black Sabbath again short of a show here and there.
A finale album that combines elements of Blizzard, Diary, Bark, Sin, Wicked & Tears, with guest appearences by Zakk Wylde & Jake E. Lee on select tracks would be a great fuckin' send off.

KELLY OSBOURNE Slams JOHN LYDON Over OZZY Rant - Mar. 15, 2011
According to The Pulse Of Radio, SEX PISTOLS frontman John Lydon, a.k.a. Johnny Rotten, slammed Ozzy Osbourne in an interview with Ozzy's hometown newspaper, Birmingham, England's Sunday Mercury. It's not clear what set off Lydon's rant, which began when he referred to BLACK SABBATH's 1970 song "Paranoid" as "one of the world's greatest ever singles" before adding, "But since then, the rumors of biting pigeon heads really, really haven't impressed me. Ozzy now acting like a senile delinquent is equally unimpressive. The sly innuendo of promoting drug abuse and catatonic stupidity offends me."
Lydon continued, "I'm not one for banning drugs. Quite the opposite. But I understand how to use them, and they don't use me. Ozzy is clearly a victim, and selling that loser lifestyle shit to other people equally victimizes them."
The singer also said, "Ozzy's a working-class man, like me, yet he allows that to happen. By acting like he does all the time, he implies that we're all stupid, the working classes. But we're not, you know. We're not! We're the proper Britain, us lot."
While Ozzy is clean and sober now, his appearance on the MTV reality show "The Osbournes" several years ago often gave the impression that he was drug-addled and incoherent.
Lydon, who himself has done reality shows in England, is promoting a new book called "Mr. Rotten's Scrap Book", while Ozzy has been touring behind his latest album, "Scream".
In response to Lydon's remarks, Ozzy Osbourne's daughter Kelly wrote in her weekly column for Britain's Closer magazine, "Last week, John Lydon accused my dad of 'acting like a senile delinquent' and 'promoting drug abuse.' People only say things like this when they want attention, and guess what? He has a book to promote!
"The truth is, I don't think he's ever met my father so clearly he doesn't know that he hasn't done drugs in years. I feel that from one artist to another, there should be some form of mutual respect, and I also think it's sad when you resort to talking shit about someone else in order to get yourself press.
"Stop being such a bitter old queen, John! You're better than that."

DVD — contains "Thirty Years After The Blizzard" documentary — and additional rare and unreleased performances and interviews.
Bob Daisley, who played bass on the first two solo albums by Ozzy Osbourne, said in a 2010 interview with his web site that he has not been contacted about the 30th-anniversary editions of those records. The tracks played by Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake on both albums — 1980's "Blizzard Of Ozz" and 1981's "Diary Of A Madman" — were replaced on a previous reissue after Daisley and Kerslake sued Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over royalties.
Daisley told the web site, "Neither Lee nor I have been contacted, considered or consulted in the decision to re-release the original recordings. I haven't a clue as to what the 'bonus material' might be. As for royalties, we have not been approached for a reconciliation and have been offered and promised nothing."
Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio he was against the idea of replacing the original tracks when he found out about it. "Believe me, it wasn't my doing," he said. "I mean, I didn't know that was being done, 'cause Sharon was fighting all the legal things that were going down at the time. I said, 'What did you do that for?' And she said, 'The only way I could stop everything was if it went to that level.' And I said, 'You know what, whatever the circumstances were, I want the original thing back.' I mean, I wouldn't have done that."
The replacement tracks were played by current METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and FAITH NO MORE drummer Mike Bordin.
Daisley says that he and Kerslake were fired because of disagreements with Sharon over a number of things, including refusing to do two shows in one day out of worry that Ozzy would blow out his voice.
Ozzy's latest solo album, "Scream" came out at the end of June 2010.
