White Sox were shitty at the time. It had everything to do with gang culture and nothing to do with the team's ability. The Oakland Raiders merchandise was/is popular with gangsters and yet they have sucked for the majority of the last 3 decades.

I thought since Axl's hair is short and he's a little heavier in the pic with Ice Cube that it might be from like 1995.

It actually has specifically to do with the fact of the White Sox being the "South Siders" in Chicago, the south side of Chicago is heavily populated by blacks and many saw the White Sox as 'their baseball team'.

Dr. Dre wore White Sox stuff into his solo career, and still does.

As a White Sox fan, I had to respond.

The Sox were NOT shitty in the early 90's.  They won the AL West in '93, and were leading in '94, before the strike.

Also, they had just switched to the black & white colors, so it was 'hip' at the time (early '90s).
