Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (GUNS N' ROSES) has released the following statement regarding the passing of legendary guitarist Gary Moore:
"Gary Moore gave a lifetime of music to the world; [he was] such a great guitarist. He was like the rock guitarist, the guy that had the best of everything in his playing — and that could only come from having the best of everything in his heart.
"To his family, you have my deepest sympathies, the love and support of millions of fans, all wishing you strength in this difficult time."
Moore died in his sleep yesterday morning (Sunday, February 6), hours after checking into the five-star Kempinski Hotel in Estepona on the Costa del Sol with an unnamed female friend. He was 58 years old.
The cause of death remained unclear last night.

tho he was prob only Ireland's 2nd or 3rd greatest guitar player, he's still one of the best ever.
obv Rory G is the best Ever & not just from Ireland, & Viv Campbell's work on Holy Diver ensures his genius, so i'd prob put Gary #3.. p much woulda been hearlded as a rock god had he been born anywhere else.. i guess irish people, especially up north, aren't as malleable or fame-hungry to seek the recognition they deserve.. nonetheless nice of BF to recognise the man..

No offense, but most of Viv's licks came from Gary Moore. Vivian is awesome, but damn, Gary Moore is one of the all time greatest players EVER!!!!!!! Rory was great too, but Gary is just on another level.
Check this.. Starts off slow, then just blows your mind.. So much feel, passion, power, awesome tone, attitude.. All in one. Just amazing.
