ZAKK WYLDE Teams Up With WILLIAM SHATNER For Cover Of BLACK SABBATH's 'Iron Man' - Jan. 26, 2011
Legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) has recorded a cover of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Iron Man" with "Star Trek" icon William Shatner.
Shatner revealed the news via his Twitter profile, writing, "Just watched tracks being laid down by Zakk Wylde of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY for my upcoming record 'Seeking Major Tom'." He added, "Zakk is one of the great guitarists who played with Ozzy Osbourne. A master playing a cover of 'Iron Man'. He's fantastic! I'm energized."
"Seeking Major Tom" pairs Shatner with musician Adam Hamilton and is expected to contain around 20 songs, including a version of QUEEN's "Bohemian Rhapsody". The CD will be released later this year via Cleopatra Records.

Well, in fairness, the real thing wasn't supposed to be funny. That's what makes it funny. The fact that it was meant to be taken seriously.

QUEEN, DEEP PURPLE, YES Members To Guest On WILLIAM SHATNER's New album - Feb. 2, 2011
Los Angeles-based Cleopatra Records has inked legendary actor William Shatner to a worldwide recording deal for a space-themed concept album entitled "Seeking Major Tom", to be released later this year.
Comprised of 18 "interpretations" of classic intergalactic rock anthems, the release features guest appearances by Brian May (QUEEN), Ian Paice (DEEP PURPLE), Steve Howe (YES), Peter Frampton and former OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist and current BLACK LABEL SOCIETY mainman Zakk Wylde.
Last week Shatner teamed up with Zakk at Wylde's studio, The Black Label Bunker, to lay down tracks for a cover of BLACK SABBATH's classic "Iron Man".
Of Wylde, Shatner commented, "He's fantastic! I'm energized." Wylde was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Shatner and added, "He's super cool, we had an awesome time working together."

Zakk tearin' it up. Cool to hear Brian May will be interpreting Bohemian Rhapsody (I assume).
Hopefully this is something fun, with alot of classic rock tunes. And if you notice, Shatner is NEVER not "in character".
In case anybody was wondering, his CBS show S**t My Dad Says is pretty decent for a formula sitcom.
