Might watch this tonight. Getting great reviews but I hate how everyone brings up the lesbo crap. It's supposed to be a killer movie with a very creepy vibe and the promo should concentrate on that. Downloaded it days ago but still haven't watched it.
I don't think it's done with the intention of demeaning the film. Obviously it's getting rave reviews, Oscar consideration and such. But when you have 2 HOT actresses in a scene like that, it's gonna get some attention. I was amazed I hadn't heard about it till the other day.

I see what James is saying. Constantly lesbo shit is used as a gimmick (has since Ellen's kiss), with no real artistic merit. This actually comes across as art and not softcore-porn for the sake of ratings/Box Office, and that's all everyone is talking about.
It's eternally irritating. I got over the whole "two chicks makeout"/"two chicks go down on each other" thing when I was about 16. I'm so de-sensitized to it now I could give a fuck...

I still don't get the sense that EVERYONE is talking about it though. I've seen Mila Kunis interviewed on George Lopez and Conan (I think it was) and they never even mentioned the scene. They talked about how great the film was, not "how was it going down on Natalie Portman?"
And for the record, I still dig when 2 chicks make out. Hence why I started this thread.

See for me girl on girl is better now than ever. Honestly porn is fantasy and my fantasies just don't include men so when I watch porn I watch girl on girl cause it's much more of a turn on then watching a dude pound some chick. Guy on girl doesn't do it for me cause if it's not me in the scene than I don't give a fuck. But girl on girl is fantasy still. It's watching sex but without dudes. That's perfect.

Fuck I knew somebody would say that. Truth is it's just more fun to watch girls go at it than guys. I'd way rather watch girls going down on each other than some girl give some dude that's not me head. Plus hearing some dude grunt and moan is pretty lame. I have no idea how actual homos put up with that

I didn't mean to give the impression about not liking two girls together, i've just been so exposed to it both in media and in real life, it's just kinda routine to me. I like it, but I don't freak about it like some men do where their brain leaps out of their body. It's actually caused me to get a bit more old-fashioned and anti-porn or risque as I get older, because everyone else seems to dig it.

Finally watched this last night. Was blown away by it. Immediately watched it again. It deserves to win each Oscar it's nominated for, especially cinematography.
It's Portman's best performance since The Professional.
The lesbo scene was such a minor part that the buzz/promotion should not have revolved around that.

Trust me, I've heard plenty of good things about the movie and the lesbo scene is WAY down on the list. It's certainly getting its just due, in my opinion. Of course, I haven't even seen the movie. But I don't think I've heard a bad word about it to this point. I just watched "The Wrestler" again tonight. Love that movie. Aronofsky seems to be on a bit of a roll.
