Yet another year in GN'R land... hmmm, I think i'll pass.
Without a new album, Axl's back to cover band territory. He just can't tour the back catalog again without the old band. The hardcores will even pass, at least in the U.S. Without a new album ready to go, a U.S. tour will be a disaster. Write it down.

I think they know that.....Chinese is done. Who knows what the redhead will do next.....anyone's guess. Smart money says he doesn't do much of anything. I'll go 10 to 1 that maybe we get a new song or album this year.

I agree, but a new album may not help all that much either. At least if they just let it drop and do nothing to support it in terms of interviews, press, etc. like the last time around.

I actually could see them dropping another album, just doing "promo", and not touring.
But like all else, it boils down to if Axl will roll out of bed. Uni this time isn't gonna lift a fucking finger in the states, unless they see Axl start acting like a 'team player'.

It's obvious that industry people in the U.S. drag their ass with Axl, because they want the 'other' payday. That's where the real money is, and after all they ARE a business. Axl's gonna have to take the LEAD and FORCE their hand. He's too lazy to do that. Even in the Illusion days, he HEAVILY relied on Slash, Duff, Gilby & Matt to go out there and "spread the B's" (to pardon a 'Dallas' term), for GN'R.

I'm not even sure Universal would lift a finger even if Axl became a "team player". GNR isn't what sells today. Rock music overall isn't what sells today. They're far more concerned with pushing the Justin Bieber's and Taylor Swift's of the world. That's what the kids related to. I think Axl knows that in a way, thus maybe he feels like, "what's the point". Then again, I'm probably giving him too much credit.
