MICHAEL ANTHONY Interviewed At NAMM (Video) - Jan. 20, 2011
Rich's Music Exchange conducted an interview with CHICKENFOOT/ex-VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony at this past weekend's NAMM international music industry trade show in Anaheim, California. You can now watch the chat below.
CHICKENFOOT drummer Chad Smith recently confirmed that he won't tour with CHICKENFOOT this year in support of the band's second album due to scheduling conflicts with his main group, the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
Although Smith plans on taking part in the recording sessions for CHICKENFOOT's second album, he will be enable to go on the road with the rest of the band — Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani — because RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS will be touring in support of their long-awaited new album.
CHICKENFOOT's self-titled debut disc came out in June 2009 and was certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN: More NAMM Performance Footage Available - Jan. 20, 2011
More fan-filmed video footage of legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen performing at this past weekend's NAMM international music industry trade show in Anaheim, California can be viewed below.
Malmsteen's new album, "Relentless", sold around 1,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
Yngwie's previous CD, "Perpetual Flame", opened with around 2,000 units back in October 2008, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Released on November 22 via Malmsteen's own Rising Force Records, "Relentless" contains more than 60 minutes of brand new material and showcases the guitar great at his best with the signature virtuosity and mind-blowing technical speed for which he has come to be known. "Relentless" also features striking vocals from Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH), who first collaborated with Malmsteen on "Perpetual Flame" (Malmsteen's first album for the Rising Force Records label).
Of the new album, Malmsteen commented, "The album title really says it all. The drive to surpass my own accomplishments can best be described with one word — relentless. After all these years of composing and playing music, I still am passionate about pushing myself to the limit — to the highest, most demanding level of playing possible."

That jammit thing john5 is on about sounds mindblowing like he said...you can play it a studio song and it isolates the instruments for you to jam with? Sounds awesome.
