Re: Steven Tyler Wants To Record New Aerosmith LP, But He Can't Find Joe P

It's politics, and it's embaressing, but it got nothing to do with the songs I listen to, and will listen to if they make a record. Couldn't care less what they say, act or do. Irrelevant. If they create a few good songs I can listen to, all is well from my part. My opinion is much of the same with GNR. I seperate the nonsense from my own entertainment value, and I want the music and I want something to play while I surf the web, clean the house, whatever. One less Aerosmith album than what they could have produced are just that, one less album to be entertained over and therefore a loss.
But the crap they've been doing in the media does nothing for their image so I'm sure they lost a few sales there. But that's of no relevance to me. They can take that decision themselves instead of having people going "call it a day".
Again, I don't get that. What good comes out of it? Silence? Is that...like...good?
Yes. If they put out stuff I can't stand, then I'd rather not hear anything at all.
But no one is forcing you to listen to it if you don't want to. The world doesn't circle around what YOU like. If you don't like it and I do, would you still want them to give it up for your own healthy benfit? Sounds a bit egotistical if you ask me.

Good point DCK !
I dont own anything post pump. But there is the hit or video post pump that I like to catch unexpected. Aerosmith have earned the right to do whatever works for them in my opinion. Kind of like muse from the other thread. It is not my thing and I understand I have a choice not to push play. Never did it cross my mind that the group should retire or never came to be based on my musical taste.
It is sad that Tyler has to communicate Via rolling stone to his band mate. I hope the two get it worked out.

Wow. Really?
My world does circle around what I like. So you see, if I feel that Aerosmith is a joke these days, puts out shitty music and should hang it up, then that's ok for me. Nothing to do with egos, it's just my opinion that Aerosmith was once great, they're not anymore, they keep embarrassing themselves, and I'd be alot happier if they stopped.
It's ok for me to have my own opinion on that right?
Yeah...I have to agree with DCK here...I don't know what you're talking about...yes...you are the most important person in your own world. What's your point?
Bascially what you're saying is...you think they suck and are not longer interested...therefore they should not exist anymore.
right...
Re: Steven Tyler Wants To Record New Aerosmith LP, But He Can't Find Joe P
So Aerosmith post-prime can not record anything u may like? You would rather an icon type band dissolve rather than take another shot?
This attitude is akin to a sports franchise having a bad season and less fan support.
It calls into question the fan in my opinion.
Everyone is allowed to dislike anything. No one said you could not dislike The Smith. You speak in public that they should be put to pasture. Everyone else is saying that is not the whole public opinion.
IMO IMHO ect will solve this type of conflict in any forum if it is included in your orignal post ...just sayin
Re: Steven Tyler Wants To Record New Aerosmith LP, But He Can't Find Joe P
I think there are some obviously similarities to draw here to the Brett Favre situation...
Like him or hate him...I never understood why he was supposed to quit just because everybody else told him her should...
If a human being is capable of doing something...maybe not as good as he/she used to...but still better than most...then he/she should be allowed to do so...and your 'humble' opinion about what should be another person should be doing is ridiculous, and perhaps your time would be better spent on your own life.
