Monster Energy Artist Dj Ashba to Electrify Our Nation’s Call to Arms

Anaheim, CA (January 6, 2011) – Guns N’ Roses Lead Guitarist and Monster Energy artist Dj Ashba will be performing the National Anthem at this Saturday’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross (an FIM World Championship) at Angel Stadium of Anaheim (January 8, 2011).  Ashba, a highly sought after musician, is regarded as one of today's top guitarists on the scene, as proven by his ability to seamlessly fit into his lead player role with the legendary band, Guns N’ Roses. In addition to being a key member of one of the seminal rock acts of the last 20 years, he is also active in Sixx:A.M. with Motley Crue member Nikki Sixx. Since teaming up with Guns N' Roses founder Axl Rose, the band has been touring non-stop in support of “Chinese Democracy”.

Saturday’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross is one of the most anticipated events in extreme sports and showcases a talented group of riders all vying for championship spots including numerous athletes from Monster Energy’s own dominating stable of Supercross riders. The event will air LIVE on SPEED from Anaheim, CA on Saturday, January 8th at 7:00PM (PST). The qualifying rounds begin at 12:30PM (PST) with the main event taking place at 7PM (PST). Tickets for the AMA Supercross range from $20.00 - $75.00 and are available thru Ticketmaster at (800)745-3000 or at www.ticketmaster.com, as well as at the Angel Stadium box office (2000 Gene Autry Way, Anaheim, CA. 92806).

That's a major step down from the Kansas City Chiefs game, but he sure is keeping busy and making the most out of his time in GNR.  So good for him I suppose.  Hopefully he can do something noteworthy WITH the band sometime soon.  Because if there's any signs of downtime what's to stop him from reconvening with SixxAM?  They have a new album coming out and all, so it would make sense.

I wouldn't know but I'd expect the Sixx Am stuff would be scheduled to be compatiable with GNR.

DJ's "never say no" approach, makes in other words, he makes Slash look like someone who refuses interviews, hates talking to people, and is a dick.

In even simpler terms - DJ makes Slash look like Axl.

You know? Like everyone bagging on Slash for being a media whore.

I dunno guys, he's a professional musican, part of that is getting yourself out there and making yourself a known entity, and that's what pays their bills and lets them spend time recording new tracks for us to rock out to rather than pushing around boxes at kmart or something.

If guys like Slash and Ashba wanna get on TV a lot and play guitar at various functions then to me that's part of them doing their job and I've never understood why people hate them for it.

While I don't expect anything dramatic to come from this, in general i'd see anything that raises the profile of the individual members of GNR, and the new GNR in general into the public mindset as a positive for the future of the band.

In fact it's Axl's lack of doing more apperances and stuff that seems to upset a lot of people, so it seems a bit like they can't win. If the band goes silent we're all like "fuck you make an effort to promote your shit" and then when they're out there pimping on TV we get all "fuck you you whore".

That's not directed at anyone in particular or anything, just an observation.
