^ True...and that's also because that album REEKS of GNR...or at least Slash's side of the GNR writing machine (Just as the ballads on CD are so blatently Axl's parts).

If you took UYI then used just Slash's contributions it would be an album very similar to snakepit 1 I think.

Interestingly slash did the same thing again with his solo album. When GNR couldn't agree musiclly he did snakepit, now when VR can't seem to find a singer they all like he's gone solo.

This is a VERY interesting question.

It's kind of a mystery. It's clearly not slash. In the original "rise of VR" doco it seemed that Matt was pretty fussy, like he was clearly not into a couple of guys the others were. He was also keen to find someone sort of at their fame level it seemed. But who knows if times have changed.

I do remember some of that stuff, and yes I remember Matt not liking Scott & Dave specifically for whatever reason. If I remember correctly, he was one that was a support of "Izzy in VR", and also getting an Axl-like singer.

Where Slash & Duff at the time were like "no way", and pretty much admitted to trashing every Axl-soundalike video demo, as soon as they heard one note.

Now all of the sudden, I think they've warmed up to the idea, just not Myles. I think they realize the bread & butter is just going out there as VR under another name, because they're getting a bit past the age of current-relevance, especially with "real" rock being niche again.

I don't think Dave has much say so either way. He's the Richard Fortus of VR.
