Re: 9 Years ago tonight
I was in Las Vegas, at the Hard Rock Hotel, seeing GNR (the same night Slash was not allowed in I think). Was a fantastic show, and a great venue. Since that time, 1 album, and 10 gazillion rumors.

The saddest thing is the lack of new music relative to the time. Such a waste of talent.
Yes, although one thing I'll give them is that I think Axl did a good job in keeping the quality alive. I think CD stands up as a good album, and when you consider the idea of making GNR records without the original GNR it could easily have been a very poor album.
I know it's crazy, but I still sort of hope Axl will find happiness and release more music for us all eventually.

I was at both of those shows--phenomenal! I hung out with Rick Rubin at the bar before the show, who was there with a VIP moniker hanging around his neck. It should have been a sign that Axl's "the album is almost done" stuff was complete BS. In hindsight, it's clear that UMG has sent him there in hopes of Rubin signing on to try to get an album out of Axl.
