It would seem this guy is an IT  for a living And as a hobby he has and plays everything including vocals. He has a way to mix and produce videos to match. I enjoy his covers and thought I would share.

We are in the middle of a big snow storm in Nashville today. I got to leave work early. Yeah me! I got home and had nothing to do so I made another simple video. I had fun playing this song. Especially the fake synth part. Yes I really recorded the part by flubbing my finger across my lips! smile Silly me!

Another Lynyrd Skynrd song I have always loved! I can't do this song real justice but I had fun doing it anyway. Hopefully someone will get some enjoyment out of it.

This is one of my original songs. I wrote it a long time ago. It is cold outside today so I re-recorded this song and made a little video with my Canon point and shoot camera. I enjoy the bass line especially. It is fun to play!

10. John AndersonSwingin (parody by skraMnoR)
I did a parody using John Anderson's song "Swinging". It's about how as an IT guy I get frustrated dealing with some people and wish I were "Swingin". My fist, a broom or wishing I were swing a golf club instead. It was fun and my friends got a kick out of it. I figured I'd share it on here too. smile

I love The Beatles so I had to try another song. I used my Kodak Zi8 to record the video and Sony Vegas to put together the video clips. I used Reaper software to record and mix the audio. As always I used 2 Rode NT5 mics as overheads on the drums, an AKG D112 to mic the kick. All guitar and bass goes through a Korg Pandora and vocals are sung through a Shure KSM mic and a dbx compressor. I use a Mackie Onyx400f for my firewire studio interface.

Whiskey in a jar (cover by skraMnoR)

I first heard this song done by Metallica. I learned that Thin Lizzy did a version (Phil Lynott sings it PERFECTLY)and then found that it was an old Irish folk story. I love the imagery the lyrics evoke. I had to bust out a floor tom to play it. I normally don't use toms on my drums set.

^ Great song...although his voice doesn't have that snarl that james from metallica nailed on that song..can't fault him for that though...always thought metallica really made that tune their own.

These are fun videos though. Do you know this guy or did you just stumble across it?

No I do not know skraMnoR personally. I came across his youtube a few months ago and added a sub. not many people play everything.I have only contacted him once via YouTube email to let him know I posted some of his stuff here And that I dug what he was doing. I asked him to include more in his comments section. I let him know I look forward to his covers, his original song has an awesome grove..ect..ect... He replied and I gave him a link to this forum and this thread.  He seems like a real nice guy to boot!

do you have anything posted on youtube monkey?

One of the other things that this guy did to catch my attention was in Down south Jukin' @ about 1:07 He pushes his voice up to catch the female backup singer vocal. (I wish Ronnie  Van Zant would have recorded it that way)
Anyway skraMnoR seems mostly comfy with low vocal songs. But that push for the back up part really got me and I hope for more from that part of his voice.

I have always sang and played at the guitar while younger. family and work took over for a long time. This guys videos and the GnR tour has inspired me a bit. Ive started an addition to build a sound proof music room onto my house. and would like to try to pick up the drums and bass.
My kids are 3 and 6.  Son is 6 and already has music class in school and has said he wants music lessons (prolly guitar and vocal coach) during off season for Football/baseball. My lil gurl sings along to GnR, Skynyrd, CCR and Aerosmith in here with me.
My family loves music even at my grandmothers during holidays her carport gets turned into a social musical event. The older guys sit around with acoustic  guitars. Sing and talk. Its a good time!

Workin for the weekend (cover by skraMnoR)

skramnor  |   December 23, 2010  |  1 likes, 0 dislikes

When I worked in NJ after high school, there was a local radio station the played this song at 5 pm every Friday. It was their way of kicking off the weekend. I recorded the guitar parts using my white Strat but the Explorer is more "80's Rock" in style so I played it for the video. I didn't play the drum parts correctly but it is close enough for me not being a real drummer. I was actually pretty tired by the time I finished tracking the drums on the song and then playing 3 or 4 takes for the video. Hope y'all enjoy! Merry Christmas to all!

I was going to do something political and artsy. My old computer is just too slow. sad So I just played and put it out. The more videos I do, the more I can see the need for a good video camera and a powerful computer. I hope you enjoy it anyway. I had a real good time playing this one! I had to bust out some toms for this. I usually don't use them. This song also has my very 1st slide solo in it.
