Re: Possible Song Titles on CD Followup Album??
so with this new info about the General its sparked some discussions which we havent seen in a couple years...
I've gone back and tweaked the thread for Chinese Democracy which shows links to all the info we know of the unreleased songs from the CD sessions
in short we know of 15 (working) titles ("Forgotten" and "If" are still question marks in light of recent developments)
Ides Of March ('98)
Berlin (Oklahoma) ('98)
Atlas Shrugged ('99)
Oh My God ('99)
Silkworms ('00)
Down By The Ocean ('01)
Soul Monster (Leave Me Alone) ('02)
Seven ('02)
The General ('02)
Thyme ('02)
Quick Song ('05)
Zodiac ('05)
Jackie Chan (Checkmate) ('08)
If ('08)
Forgotten ('10)

On 01/13/06, Axl visited Korn's tour launch party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary, and gave his first comments to a member of the press in over three years.
"'People will hear music this year,' says Axl Rose, puffing on a cigar in the early hours of Saturday morning at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. 'We're working on thirty-two songs, and twenty-six are nearly done,' he says. Of those, thirteen are slated for the final album. [...] Among Rose's favorites are 'Better,' 'There Was a Time' and 'The Blues.'" (Rolling Stone, 01/18/06)
if "Forgotten" and "If" are real songs then we have at least heard of 29 of the 32 track titles which Axl referred to in that interview.
Re: Possible Song Titles on CD Followup Album??
If is obviously If the World. Think we can rule out Down By The Ocean as well. Still cant hardly believe Quick Song wasn't CD.
Buckmaster and Beltrami sharing some credits makes you wonder if a few of these songs listed(portions of them anyways) were merged into some of the songs on the album.

Why should Down By The Ocean be ruled out? It's one of the few tracks Axl specfically referenced as late as the chats 2008/09, and he also stated it was an Izzy track.
So unless he's pissed at Izzy and gonna bury the track, I would think it'd be one of the tracks at the top of the list "still in play".

Wasn't there a song with Beta in the title?
Axl mentioned it in an interview, it was "Beta's Barn" or something... Whether or not that was a joke.
I'm pretty sure everysong Neemo listed, except "Forgotten" were all confirmed by reliable sources.
Re: Possible Song Titles on CD Followup Album??
I love "Oh My God," but it really sounds like a demo, why? I'm sure we all would love a new version.
Axl: Because that's all it was, only at the time having just got it together only Jimmy Iovine knew that who wanted it to sell their soundtrack. I saw segments of the movie which were good. As a whole later not so much but it wasn't ready yet then. I did write an experimental piece inspired by the bits I'd seen called "Daddy Can the Devil Do Mommy and Me?" ;D

Did you have any favorite song that not included in Chinese Democracy?
Chris Pitman: Yes, we did have a large collection of songs recorded through the years, and many I don't even remember now! But to think of a favorite song right now as we speak, I would have to say its one called "Beta's Barn."
