I watched it last night. It didn't live up to the hype, although I didn't have a huge anticipation for the film. The few scenes with the monster were the main highlights. They showed the monster(s) the perfect amount of time. Not too much which would have taken away the impact, and not too little.

The script is pretty damn weak. Shallow characters that you care nothing about, although thats par for the course in Hollywood. Its filmed like a documentary and with plenty of shaky cam footage. I think that style of film making is getting pretty damn stale.

Its not a 'deep' film. Its basically just a safe cookie cutter monster flick spewed out of the Hollywood machine. They do leave a few things to the imagination, for better or worse.

One negative is how slow this film starts out, and since its only an hour and twenty minutes, there's not enough time to fuck around like that. We know the characters are gonna be lame and we paid 10 bucks to see the action, so give it to us. I don't need any character development in a flick like this.

I give it a 5/10.

This movie is gonna kill at the box office. The theater was PACKED. Will be interesting to see how word of mouth spreads and how it affects its box office numbers its second week.

I'll say one thing- they picked the perfect time to release this movie. This film might start a trend where Hollywood starts unleashing some of its big movies during what has always been considered a dead part of the year.

Holy shit. Russ and anyone else gonna watch this, stay until AFTER the credits roll. Apparently there is a bit more footage.

I fucking hate when films do that. I always leave when the credits start.
