Nothing wrong with the BEP performing at the Super Bowl. They are one of the top acts and its no surprise they were picked, and I guarantee they do the event multiple times throughout their career.

We're all just getting old. Everyone(including myself) are starting to sound like my grandma.

On the other hand, you have to look at it from the overall music perspective. The world is running out of major acts. Once the stadium acts are gone within the next 5-10 years, maybe 15 for U2(Stones, McCartney, Springsteen, etc.), events like this are gonna be scraping the bottom of the barrel for artists that appeal to a wide demographic of people. The internet and the music environment it spawned ensures that those major acts are never truly replaced.

The current generation has GaGa and Rihanna(the 21st century Madonna and Mariah) and a few others but it pales in comparison to previous decades.

It also looks like we're finally seeing the consequences of MTV and pop culture in general ignoring rock and letting rap/hip hop dominate for so long. There are no rock bands to pass the torch to. Hip hop acts were never touring juggernauts so Live Nation is basically monopolizing a dying industry.

I blame all the white guys wearing baggy pants down to their ankles in 1995 for this mess..... 13

Harry Wayne Casey of K.C. and the Sunshine Band has accused Black Eyed Peas of ripping off one of his songs for their new album.

"I have recently learned that the Black Eyed Peas have utilized my song 'Give It Up'

I love that song. Only KC song I have on my pc.

Yeah I had never heard the song, but I liked it too.  I'm glad the Black Eyed Peas "stole" it, because I never would've heard it otherwise.

Thank God I didn't go through that phase. There was a time in the late 90's that us hard rock/grunge cross-breeds with Axl bandanas & beards and Kurt sweaters and ripped jeans were kind of lost with everybody turing Wigger on us. 14

If you think you have it bad in the US check out the shit Australia gets here for the AFL or NRL grandfinals.

The AFL is pathetic, this year we had INXS with that clown JD whatever his name singing before the game and Lionel Richie singing at half time.  Bwwwaaaawawawawa

BUT NOTHING will ever beat this cringe factor back in 1991.  Angry Anderson came out - in some sort of bat mobile (yes a bat mobile), and sang "Bound for Glory".  Even some of the other people that were out there on the field were laughing.
