KORN Frontman Comments On Latest GRAMMY Nomination - Dec. 2, 2010
KORN frontman Jonathan Davis has commented on the band's nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
"Best Metal Performance" nominees:
* IRON MAIDEN - "El Dorado" (from "The Final Frontier")
* KORN - "Let The Guilt Go" (from "Korn III: Remember Who You Are")
* LAMB OF GOD - "In Your Words" (from "Wrath")
* MEGADETH - "Sudden Death" (from "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock")
* SLAYER - "World Painted Blood" (from "World Painted Blood")
"Our new album, 'Korn III: Remember Who You Are' really means a lot to us," Davis told AOL's Noisecreep. "It's a return to our roots. So the fact that the Grammy committee recognizes one of our favorite tracks from that album is an immense honor. And, to be nominated alongside MAIDEN — well, that makes it even more killer."
KORN has now been nominated for seven Grammy Awards since 1997. The band won "Best Short Form Music Video" for "Freak on a Leash" in 2000 and "Best Metal Performance" for "Here to Stay" in 2003.
"Korn III" came out in July and followed up the band's self-titled 2007 effort.
The disc has stalled at 148,000 copies sold in the U.S. after 20 weeks on shelves.
Davis told The Pulse Of Radio a few months back that the band's highly-publicized reunion with producer Ross Robinson on the group's latest album was no walk in the park. "It's just an onslaught of mental torture, basically," he said. "I mean, it's hard for me when I do records — over the years, I mean, I've grown to want to be happy (laughs), and when it comes to doing my art is when I deal with those things in my life and in my head that I need to deal with. But when Ross is around he, we sit around and talk about stuff, things that are really upsetting me, and then when we're in the studio, he uses that as ammo against me mentally to torment the hell out of me."

Who in the flying fuck is Bruno Mars?!?!
Bruno Mars actually has a really good voice, for the pop genre. I've heard a few of his solo songs and don't really care for them, but I got semi-addicted to this song featuring him over the summer.

SLAYER Frontman Comments On Latest GRAMMY Nomination - Dec. 3, 2010
A harrowing "end-of-the-world" song, "World Painted Blood", the title track from SLAYER's most recent release, has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of "Best Metal Performance." This is the band's fifth Grammy nod, with the band having taken home the prize twice, first for "Eyes of the Insane" in 2006, and then again with "Final Six" in 2007, both in the "Best Metal Performance" category.
"I admit, I'm excited and kind of surprised," said SLAYER's bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, who co-wrote (with guitarist Jeff Hanneman) "World Painted Blood". "To have SLAYER's music recognized by an organization as traditional as the Grammys — five times now — is like that gold star that someone puts up by your name. It's unexpected, but it's cool."
The "World Painted Blood" nomination caps off one of the band's most challenging yet successful years of its career. Beginning with Araya's successful neck surgery that now has him pain-free, SLAYER went on to co-headline (with MEGADETH) the "Canadian" and "American Carnage" tours, European headline dates, the historic summer series of "Big Four" Sonisphere European concerts with METALLICA, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX, and the recently completed "Jägermeister Music Tour" that SLAYER co-headlined with MEGADETH and featured ANTHRAX.
SLAYER's 2011 will launch with a slew of major Australian festivals, with more North American news to be announced.
Material released between September 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010 (a 13-month period) is eligible for the 2011 Grammys.
The 53rd annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live in high definition TV and 5.1 Surround Sound on February 13, 2011 on CBS from 8:00 p.m. EST.
