GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal will be a special guest jamming some tunes with FOZZY at the band's December 3 concert at The Factory in Sydney, Australia.
FOZZY is the band featuring WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho and STUCK MOJO mastermind Rich "The Duke" Ward. The group will return to Australia for the first time since 2005 in December.
Comments Jericho: "Our fans in Australia are some of the best FOZZY fans in the world and we heard your demands, so we are coming back and we are looking forward to tearing the house down with each and every one of you crazy bastards this December!"
The dates are as follows:
Dec. 02 - The Hi Fi - Melbourne, AUS
Dec. 03 - The Factory - Sydney, AUS
Dec. 05 - The Hi Fi - Brisbane, AUS
"Let The Madness Begin", the new video from FOZZY, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed during the group's 2010 U.K. and U.S. dates.
"Let The Madness Begin" comes off FOZZY's new album, "Chasing The Grail", which sold around 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 6 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
In a recent interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com, Ward stated about "Let The Madness Begin", "[That particular track] is all about the balance between a really good, classic melody and a great, classic rock riff. That was our focus for the whole record, but I think 'Let The Madness Begin' is probably the one song on the album where I think that balance is best.
"Sometimes when you're trying to write a heavy album, you find that sometimes you'll end up compromising the melody for the riff, because obviously, the riff is so important for the drum part. On some rock albums, the vocals become the focus, and then the music takes a backseat. We tried to find that fine line where the music was important and the melody was important. We treated them as equals, and I think 'Let The Madness Begin' was that perfect balance between hard rock melodic vocals and a big metal riff."
"Chasing the Grail" was released on January 26 via Australia's Riot! Entertainment.

The Bumblefoot/Jericho connection seems to make sense. They're both friends of Eddie Trunk, so they probably hang out in the same circles to a degree.
I never really listened to Fozzy before, but I heard this song featuring Zakk Wilde on Eddie's show the other day and I was digging it. Chris sounds a little like early era Ozzy on this track to me.

Went to a Fozzy gig quite recently. They put on a good show. He sounds quite like Andi Deris from Helloween at times. They played mostly all new material from their latest album Chasing The Grail but with a couple covers in there too. They do amazing covers of Krokus "Eat The Rich" and Ozzy's "Over The Mountain."

Jericho sounds like a parody of a 80's rock singer. He sounds like Love Fist from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
That was the point though. He even went under the moniker "Mongoose McQueen." 
Their last two albums they have come into their own and distanced themselves from being a parody. Infact their new album, despite not selling a lot of copies is getting great reviews worldwide.

GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal joined FOZZY on stage this past Friday (December 3) at The Factory in Sydney, Australia to perform the DIO classic "Stand Up And Shout". Fan-fimed video footage of his appearance can be viewed below.

I'd have gone to see Fozzy in Melbourne with a Meet and Greet ticket but it sold out before I found out about it. Next Time!
